I was going to list on ebay, but was very surprised I was almost done my first listing said it would be 45 cents to list but for 18.00 said it would be a 2.16 final value fee if sold I was listing a few material in one lot with shipping included, so you figure 18.00 minues ebay fees is a little over 15.00 then ,inus pp fees and shipping tracking and insurance, anyways does anyone know where I can list pics of fabric so people can look at it, I have it piled all over the place mark with #'s so I know whats what to get it moved out faster. I have so much and I am selling it all at a reasonable price, need to make room for other things, thank you. Also have a brand new singer serger.....

Where is the best place to sell custom made pageant dresses? I am tired of trying to sell on ebay, by the time ebay fees, paypal fees, and etc. Also, I guess because I'm considered a new seller, ebay/paypal has put hold on my money on the past 3dresses i have sold and tells me to ship item immediatly. They only release funds IMMEDIATLY when positive feedback is left. So far, everyone has left positive feedback immediatly, but it is such a headache and stress not to have access to the money for a dress you have slaved over and sold. I understand the buyers need protection, however, I am an honest dress designer/seller and would not attempt to put something out there that looked or was sewed awful as it would drastically hurt me as a designer. Not to mention, you really can't make much money right now. I am serious about getting into selling/designing national pageant dresses, but aggravated with all the ebay hooplah. Has anyone else ever had them hold your money, and expect you to ship immediatly? Then you just sit back and pray for smooth shipping, and feedback so you can have access to your hard earned money.

I have the same question. Im,too, am new to the little girls dresses and what I have learned so far is EBAY istoo much like a garage sale. Everyone wants a bargain. You may try Etsy. It is a lot classier group of people. All items are handmade. I use Homestead for my website. You build it and maintain yourself. It is fairly simple and they take care of registering your domain and everything with one click. My site is www.pinkbiscuitsandchocolategravy.com and you get a 30 day free trial to build and work on it. Needless to say I need to add my dress photos but it is not too hard.

I think this might be a new policy. I've sold things in the past for just about the same amount of money as the item I sold last week. This time, however, I had the money put on hold, pending delivery confirmation, positive feedback, or 21 days with no dispute. It is frustrating to me because I was very generous with the buyer to begin with. It took her nearly a week to send the payment. It wasn't a big deal to me, but here it is nearly 2 weeks later, and the money is not available to me. The package was delivered today, but nobody was home to accept it, so now I have to wait until the buyer gets it picked up from the post office. Not only that, but it was almost $40 for shipping, and I had to pay that outside of the transaction money. I understand if ebay is trying to protect the buyers, but it's really quite binding to the occasional seller.

Thats exactly what I'm talking about. The dresses I shipped, I also had to wait the next day for it to be picked up because they were not home. Then, you just hope and pray they will leave you positive feedback. I just think thats a big crock to hold your money. It sure does not make me feel safe as a seller.

SUCK more and more with each new change they make! That is so wrong (holding money) on so many levels, that I can't even begin to imagine trying to do business on ebay any more. Ebay has lost it's thrill for me! It used to be fun, but not anymore! We need to find another outlet for our creative desires altogether! Anybody know how to set up a pageant items auction site?

Where is a good place to have a long skirt done to match a bodice that I already have for a short dress? I am probably more interested in a full tulle skirt, than a more pageant type of skirt.
Thanks!

I am wondering how much material I will need for a full cupcake skirt. My daughter wears a size 5-6 clothes. I think she will need 11 inch skirt. If that is right, how many yards are needed to make a full cupcake organza skirt. Also, what color stones will match teal green?

There isn't a pattern that I know of that gives you that information. You can probably get 10 different ways to make a skirt on the site. And 10 different yardage measurements too. It depends on how full you want your skirt and how you make your skirt/style. Everyone seems to do them just a little different. Some designers/seamstresses sew two top layers (full to semi-full) then one or two full ruffle layers with two rows of ruffles on each layer. I have seen skirts that have 2 semi full top layers and 3 single layered (semi full gathered) ruffles. And the skirt is actually a pretty full cupcake skirt (which is works for a smaller child) not sure how that would work for an older/larger size. I know none of this is probably going to help since it's not actual yardage measurments that you are looking for.

I have actually sewn a full skirt between a cupcake and southern style 2T skirt with 3 yards of organza...lots of ruffles. Turned out beautiful. But I have also used up to 5 yards in a skirt. Which was very full and very tight. I actually perferred the movement of the skirt that had the less yardage in it. (but it did have a layer of the lining material in the skirt too to boost the color of the organza I used) I can send pix to show you the different skirts (layers and materials I have used if you like) to give you a better idea of what I am talking about.

Hope it helped a little.

I have a dress that is white with crystal stones. It has LOTS of laces and rhinestones on it - comes with skirt - panties - bodice - choker - all sorts of little extras. It is about a size 4-5-6. I had it made just before we stopped doing pageants - it was going to be our next dress. I let a friend wear it to 1 pageant. My daughter never wore it. My friend got a little tanning lotion on the inside so I went to soak it in oxyclean and DISASTER!!!! The person that made it didn't use the right kind of glue and the stones started falling off. Some of the flowers started to bleed color (onto the flowers - not the bodice as far as I can tell. I planned to rework it - but never had a need. I just went to go get it out and it is now kind of yellow... If I had the time I would probably dye the bodice to a new color and re-do all the decorations. There is a lot of potential in this but I just don't have the time. This dress and all the extras cost me $500! I just don't have time to re-work it right now. One day I might - but I thought if there was someone out there with a little bit of time that wanted to rework it - I would let it go for just $75. If you are interested - email me at nicolespgnt@comcast.net. Otherwise one day I will rework it - but hate to have it just sitting here when someone else might be able to use it now.

I have a dress I just converted into a lace-up (thanks for all the tips on that - it worked great) but now I am trying to dye ribbon to match the dress for the actual "lace" It needs to be a light neon orange (not sherbert or bright pumpkin orange). I tried a rit dye and it didn't work. I know how to dye with apple barrel. I just need to know what combination to use for a light neon orange.

I'm sure theres a way to do that, however, I need something straightforward, ready to cut out and sew...Don't think I could alter down to a girls size. How hard would that be to do??? Never tried that before. I have seen nice ladies lined jacket patterns. Was hoping for a childs lined jacket

If you already have the pattern, just cut out another jacket and sleeves in the fabric you want to line it with.So you'll end up wiht the jacket cut out and the liner cut out for a total of 2 different fabrics. Satin, taffeta, etc. So you'll end up with two -jacket and liner. After you have sewn your jacket together, sew your liner just like you did for the jacket. You'll want to slip the liner right side out and the jacket inside out and pin and sew (hand sew) to the shoulder where the sleeves meet. And after you have hemmed the sleeves to the correct length, hem and hand baste the liner to the hem of the inside of the jacket sleeves. If you don't have a jacket pattern, I find lots of cute and stylish (vintage) patterns on ebay. If you can't find anything you like email me, I may have one you can have. HTH!

Most in CA know of this designer as she is in fact the MC of a local pageant. I will not say anything negative, only what I know are facts based on my own observations/interactions with her.
Her portfolio contains "sample" dresses which are mostly other designers pictures. It has also been an issue online as you can see from the above post.

Her dresses tend to be on the more expensive side. I have seen some that are okay for prelims, but not a state or national level dress. I would advise that if you are going to spend the money, go with a more reputable designer.

Best of luck to you!

i just have a plain old $99 brother sewing machine from walmart that i have been using for years. it does all the stitch functions you need for basic sewing....zig zag, straight stitch, button holes, etc. but you will need a serger to fishline hem your skirts. you don't have to have one...some people zig zag their skirts, but to me, it is alot more work and a fishline hem looks nicer. i have an inexpensive serger too...i think i paid $200 or $250 for it a few years ago. it is a brand name too....simplicity i think. i think the most important thing is that you keep them oiled and cleaned and they will run nice and smooth. hope this helps :+)

if there is enough boning in the back and sides, it shouldn't bunch. just remove the zipper and either use metal grommets or make loopholes on each side 1.5 to 2 inches apart. then just lace it up. if there isn't enough boning in the back, you will have to find some way to insert boning either by stitching it in or if there is too many decorations on the back, then you will need to hand sew it to the inside. just buy the kind of boning that has a sleeve so you can sew it in and insert the boning. hope this helps :+)

Let me save you some headache....
Don't buy the cheap stuff on ebay if you plan on using it for a dress. It's great for crafts and decorating, but not dress quality.
Joann's Fabric - I don't personally like the polyester organza, but with a 40% off coupon, it's not a bad deal

I've been buying mine lately from Formal Pageant Fabrics (Miss Nancy) on ebay. She has the great colors, good shipping prices and sends it quick. I have been buying from her bc she sends the nylon organza from Oriole Textile that seems to be the best quality I've used.

Good luck, please post if you find anything. :)

My daughter has lice ughh! We just did a pageant & found it today. I'm not sure if it is from a child at the pageant, school, or plane. I'm not sure if I can treat her wiglet without messing it up.

Does anyone know how I can do this?
Thanks:)

I would not ever treat the wiglet with lice treatment. If it does have lice in it, which I truly dont think that it does, you can boil it in water if it is real hair. If it is not natural real hair then you will be fine. Lice do not live off the hair they live off the blood in the scalp. I would put the wiglet in an air tight container for a week or two without opening or using the wiglet and they will not live without the air or blood to feed off.

Seems there was a little girl in her class who's Mom didn't really care and she came home with it every few weeks for the whole school year. First thing you should definately want to do is inform the school nurse. She will start inspecting the kids and hopefully irradicate it from the school. If that's where it emminated from. And the poison that is used in lice shampoo is very damaging to the hair, not to mention outrageously expensive when you have to treat the whole house and family! The school nurse told me the best and safest way to treat lice is to give a mayonaise conditioner to her hair once a week. The mayo super conditions the hair and kills the adult lice by smothering them. You still have to pick the nits out though. Try it, it will save you money and hassle. HTH!

When my daughter was young...my daughter had lice three or 4 times in one school year. The school she attended had about a 1/2 semester of a Lice issue. Her hair was done to her tailbone. We were told besides using the lice shampoo (and very important picking out the nits)on her personally. Was to launder everything that could be including linens/pillows etc. What couldn't be wet, she suggested (including stuffed animals) to put into a hot dryer. What couldn't be laundered, shampooed or heat dryed...Put in a tight plastic bag or bin, for two weeks.

Even though the lice need blood to survive they can live for a little while in hats, headrests, linens, combs, stuffed animals. I believe they also have a lice spray...which is what I used on the stuffed animals before placing into a plastic bag.

If the wiglet can't be washed or dried, definetly put into a plastic container as suggested earlier for a couple weeks. (If for someone reason the lice were able to lay eggs in the wiglet), pick out with your hand gently as to not harm the hair on the wiglet, and maybe do a warm rinse with water after being stored) You wouldnt want a stylist finding any dead lice or eggs.

i have over 70 pieces of fabric at least a yard each, a few that are 2 or 3 yards that i am asking $100 firm plus shipping for all of it. i have pictures of it if anyone wants to email me at pageantdesignsbyvalerie@gmail.com. just by guessing, i would say i had paid at least $400 or more for all of it. there are holiday/seasonal prints, organza, velvet, lots of children's prints, and some regular prints. there is well over 75 yards of fabric here. if it doesn't sell in the next day or two, i will be listing it on ebay.

I was wondering if someone could tell me what to use to get glue off of an outfit. I have one that I want to take some of the appliques off but not sure what to use for the glue. It was regular fabric glue I used (if I remember correctly). It is a white outfit. I have heard people say "goo gone" but someone told me it would stain. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Cindy-Lou, have you seen the color Padparadsha? Merchants send me a sample and I thought it would be great to use on a pink/coral combo dress. Very pretty stone in my hand but I haven't seen it on a dress yet.

I don't know if there is a particular right or wrong way but I do it one of two ways depending on my mood and the particular mix of stones I am using. I tend to use all the same color stones in a broach. I find solids much more forgiving.

I lay a length of wax paper on a flat surface and play with the stones until I know the basic pattern I want. Usually I put a blob of E6000 down, let it set up a little, press my center stone into the center of the blob then start building out around the big stone adding small amounts of glue as I go. I normally use navettes or pears to fan out from underneath the big stone so I can tuck one pointed end underneath the beveled edge of the stone before it. Take your time and let the new glue set up so the stones don't slip and slide too much. Toothpicks work well for nudging the stones into place.

Sometimes I turn the big stone upside down on the wax paper, squeeze a little glue on it's back and start fanning the other stones around, all upside down. Repeating until the base is done then finish off with a good overall coat of glue. This way makes the front of the broach all flat and even.

Either way you do it......RESIST the urge to pull the wax paper off the broach before the next day and even then you may want to just turn the whole thing over and let it dry a little more before peeling the paper away.

If you want a pin, glue it on the finished project. I find it works better to put the pin nearer the top of the broach so it hangs straight rather than flopping down. Good luck

Ahh, the big debate - to sew or to glue. If I'm being paid well for a dress then I sew most of the appliques and glue ribbons and other trims that need to stay perfectly straight. If I'm trying to get as pretty a dress as I can but don't have much money to invest in my time then I glue and go on. I have found that most moms couldn't care less and would rather have their money invested in flash than in good workmanship that ends up hidden or glued over with stones anyway.

Thought this would be a good place to ask. I have been a seamstress for 10 + yrs. Things have been been really slow the past 2 yrs at Haggar so I started making wedding and flower girl dresses. A friend of mine suggested I try to make pageant dresses. I made a dress and I think it turned out great. I would like some opinions on what you all think about it. Also what do pageant moms look for when looking for a seamstess? What things do you stay away from? What is the best way to build my clientel as noone would know who I am right now? Being new how do I build trust? What should my pricing be? The dress I made is about size 4-6 fully glitzed out and the materials cost 786. It took about 26 hours of work to make the dress. Im sure as I get more into the business I could find places to get the materials I need in bulk for a greater savings. Any thoughts you might have on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Renee

I know materials can add up, but that seems a bit high. What fabric did you use for bodice and skirt. Long or Short dress? When you say glitz, how many stones and what sizes. A picture would really help.
Times are really tough even for big named designers right now. It takes perseverance, and keeping your word. Stay to promised delivery dates. Promised materials. If you provide good work, the reputation will build slowly but surely.

I think your losing your money in the stones. Try looking on ebay. That's where I buy my stones from and I don't pay a fraction of that. Try looking for US sellers to avoid import fees. Also check sellers with multiple items that way you can save with combined shipping. Hope this helps!

I agree that there is way too much money tied up in the rhinestones. There are a few places to get fair priced stones, especially when you buy in bulk 10 gross packs. I would also limit the number of fancy stones to help control the cost as well. Typically when I stone an average dress, I use about 10 gross of stones, 6 large brooch stones and maybe 1 gross of fancy pears, marquis, cubes, disco balls, etc. The fancy stones are nice up close, but from the judges table, many are lost in the pattern. Of course you can do anything that the customer requires, but I find that the money spent on a lot of fancy stones just adds to the cost. However, if the customer is willing to pay extra for it, extra stones and a lot of fancy shapes can always be done. Good luck to you!

I am trying to embroider with my machine onto ribbon with a design. The needle seems to be getting sticky and causing my thread to break. What can I do to keep the needle from getting sticky?

BEWARE of buying anything from Christy Merchant!!! I ordered a custom dress from her the first week January to be worn in May and got it the day of the pageant in such a mess that it had to be returned. She had promised the dress at the end of March.... then kept putting me off and refused to send any pictures of the "progress" she was making. When it did arrive the hem was so wavy there were 4-5 inches difference in places, lining showed under the hem, it wasn't even close to the right size, edges were unfinished and raveling, she sent pictures of the dress with fabric pinned on and then took the fabric off and tried to cover it up with appliques, fabric was wadded up and sewn into the waistband.... It is STILL a mess, although I gave her an opportunity to correct it. It was slapped together in such a way that I would have been ashamed to tell people I made it! The bodice has material basted on with stitches that are an inch and a half long, the bottom edge is serged instead of being hemmed properly and looks horrible, the fabric is twisted where it shouldn't be, material was supposed to be gathered and it was just wadded up and sewn down, the ruffle for one panel of the skirt was too short so instead of making a longer one, she just wadded the panel up to fit the ruffle and it looks awful, dress still has edges that are unfinished and raveling out, there is a hole in the chiffon on the back of the bodice, one side of the bodice is cut straight and the other is rounded when they should be the same, instead of cutting the boning down like she should have, she tried to cut around it so now IF the dress could be worn, the boning pokes up into my child's armpits.... I could go on all day about that mess! Not only that, but she did NOT return all 18 yards of the fabric that I sent her.... and it was not even close to 18 yards of fabric that she used in the dress! I had the fabric measured, and she kept about 1/2 of the silk fabric that I sent her!!! $605 PLUS FABRIC for a dress that my child can't wear! AND NONE of that cost was for stones, stonework, decoration, etc - it was a basic dress, although I did get some poor quality appliques with my purchase. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!!!!
Christy, why don't you tell people why you had to CLOSE your ebay store and start a NEW ebay account? Tell them about your feedback, about all those people you did wrong, about all the paypal and ebay complaints filed.... it wasn't just ME, it was many others you did wrong.
IF ANYONE WANTS PICTURES OF THE MESS SHE SENT ME, JUST EMAIL ME AND I WILL BE GLAD TO PROVIDE THEM! I am having someone try to make the skirt wearable, but I am having to have another bodice made just so all that money isn't wasted on the mess she sent me!

I wonder how far back the board is archived. Because there have been warnings on this subject before. If you go to her website, a few of the dresses look great, but if you look closely, the ruffles on most of her skirts lie inside each other in a way that would never cut it for nationals. She has been making dresses a long time and apparently has not figured out how to rectify that, and people have criticized that for years. She also uses the Lord's word in her ads hawking pageantwear. I could see if she were selling communion veils or something... but taking scripture in vain to make a profit, well, it speaks volumes.

you typed"the bottom edge is serged instead of being hemmed properly and looks horrible" that is how most make them when I started making dresses I used to hem mine too but not now because you just cover it up with lace and it's much easyer to sew though 2 layers of ss and one layer of lace thank 4 layers of ss and 1 layer of lace it also lays better on the skirt I am truly sorry you had such a time with this lady but I just wanted to let you know for some of us "dress makers" this is how we do it please go post to everyboard you know about her I will give you a list aslong as my arm

my biggest question is did she give you any money back?????

No - she was asked to finish the edges because she knew I didn't like a lot of appliques, and she was told that I would not be putting many of the appliques back on. She KNEW what she was supposed to do, but IF that edge was the worst problem with the dress, I could have lived with that. Sadly, it's probably one of the more minor issues.

Forgot to answer your question. I got exactly NOTHING back from the $605 I paid her, nor did she pay me for the material she stole by not sending the remainder back to me, nor did she pay me for the material that she ruined by not making the skirt the right length the first time. SO, if you see a dress or anything else that she's made from a floral/butterfly silk burnout fabric, it's made from STOLEN fabric.

UPDATE - Today I received in the mail some more "scraps" of my fabric from Christy, but she supposedly returned all my fabric with my dress. Hmmm... well, scraps aren't going to cut it, especially since I've been contacted by someone who she was going to make a dress for FROM my fabric......
Christy, just put it in the mail!!!! Or you can buy it from me - the cost is $605. Fabric or a money order please!

I REALLY don't want to get involved but I am intrigued by the talk about the fabric. I'd love to see what it looks like. Can someone email me a pic? Or post it somewhere. It sounds so beautiful!

Have you contacted Ebay? They have a guarantee. If you paid through paypal you might be able to get your money back. File a complaint. ASAP. Don't let her get away with this. If the seller doesn't make you happy, Ebay Will!!

Sadly, I didn't buy through an ebay auction, and paypal won't refund after 45 days.... by the time I got the dress, returned it, and got the "corrected" (and I use that jokingly) version, it was too late to get a refund - she knew what she was doing when she ripped me off. Guess that's because she's done it so often. CON ARTIST!!!!
Christy, why did you get a new ebay id? What happened to your ebay store? How about all those people who gave you negative feedback and filed paypal and ebay complaints? Did you screw them the same way you did me? Hope that money is worth it when you have to explain your LIES and THIEVERY at judgement day!!! Those scriptures you post tricking people into thinking you are a Christian aren't just words! You'll answer for what you are doing!

Can someone point me to a legitimate pageant discussion board? I am new to the pageant world and would love to learn from others through discussion. Everything that I have found so far has been nothing more than banners and advertisement. Is there a board where active discussions about pageants are going on?

Thanks for tolerating my off topic question!

Does anyone have an inexpensive long crowning dress in a girls size 8. I have a niece that will be competing in a natural pageant. (I won't have time to make one for her), and she was going to wear a junior bridesmaids dress that she is wearing for a wedding the week after the pageant..but it's not pageant at all. It's a greecian style /plain flat jersey knit (nice style for the wedding, but not a good choice for the pageant). They are on a very tight budget...so my thought was to find a crowning dress...I might beable to spruce up a bit. She is 10 but the height of an 8 year old and the width of a 4 year old. Tiny skinny little thing. Please e-mail pix and price lisaj@citlink.net

I made a cupcake skirt 11" long. Layers look great, hemming looks great, when I put it on my daughter, it's flat looking. I put two built in slips, one has 2 rows of ruffles and the other has 1 row of ruffles. It's just not standing up like I see others. Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong. It has an elastic waistband. Again, everything looks great, it's just flat. How do I fix it. Thanks in advance.

I have each layer getting shorter by 2" then I have two built in light weight cotton pieces, the first piece has two rows of extremely gathered ruffles, then the second piece has 1 super tight row of ruffles. Are you saying I need 3 - 4 layers on each? Thanks for the two of you that answered me. If you can answer this I might figure it out. Thanks again

I use 6 yrds of material. I cut my 4" strips from all 6 yds on both edges so you actually get 12 yds. I use 4 full layers of organza. Then I use 6 yds on 2 different layers of tight gathered ruffles or a total of 6 layers. Mine come out full. You also have to watch that your curls from the fishline do not lay inside each other. This will cause a flat look as well. Hope that helps!

Now, I'm more confused, lol
O.k. I understand all but the layers part. How many layers of gathered ruffles are on each slip part. Or are you saying, If I have three slip parts (the shorter part that the ruffles go on) should I only have 1 row of super tight gathered ruffles? I guess my question is this. First, how many shorter layers do I want? Then how many super tight rows of ruffles do I want on each. I think this will make me understand better, or at least I hope! Thanks to everyone gave suggestions?

I gather my under ruffles on the tightest tension with the longest stitch and then go back and pull the top thread to gather as much as I possibly can. It takes awhile and stinks but it's the only way I've found to get a good poofy skirt.

Can you send a pix? I can help more, If I know exactly what your referring to as being flat. Did you do a southern skirt or cupcake style? Does the top layer have enough gathering (fullness). Is the skirt not standing up (like a cupcake) or are is fishline hem not curling enough. Is it really flat or do you mean it's not "puffy" enough? A pix would really help. lisaj@citlink.net

Hey Ladies, I am looking for a really good dress maker. I want a really good strong bodice and a good cupcake style skirt. My daughters current dress is made by a big designer that I love but I know they dont technically "make" the dress, just decorate it. I want to cut out the middle man, just put the expense where it goes.
So who can do it?? I do not want anyone that does not put a good amount of boning (spelling) in it or a really good skirt. Ive seen some that "buckle out" when on and too flimsy like, thats why Im not going to ebay.
Send me examples and prices please. I am wanting a good dress and babydoll dress made. I have lots of clothes to be made (smile).
Thanks.

A good quality shell isn't cheap, there is a substantial amount of labor involved in creating a rigid boned bodice.

Got a question. I am decorating a dress. I want to use different stones, however I'm not sure what to order. I'd like to get the tear drop ones, but don't know what size, also the round ones, don't know size or proper name, not the 20ss or 16 ss crystal ab, they may be called navettes? I'm not sure.
But could someone list the proper names and sizes I should be ordering for a pageant dress, I guess the most common sizes. Thanks in advance

E-6000 is ok if you don't mind taking a chance and getting CANCER. It has warning on it that E-6000 has been know to case cancer. Gem tac works as great as E-6000 and is non-toxic and does not have the fumes like E-6000 at give you headaches.

I use Gem Tac or Jewel Glue by Delta. I have never had an issue with either one. No heavy fumes...easy clean-up, and if you get a spot you didn't want on a dress...if you hurry you can wash/dilute with water (depending on fabric used).

I've had to woolite (Hand wash) a bodice, and the glue held just fine.

if so, i doubt you will be able to get it out now.
if not, first try to soak the spot in white vinegar and then throw it in the washer with detergent and 1 cup of vinegar. if that doesn't work, take lemon juice and salt and make a paste and scrub with a toothbrush and rewash. don't dry in the dryer until you are sure the stain is gone. HTH

take a piece of paper and cut out the shape of one petal. make sure that it has a long enough base to be able to connect all 5 petals together at the bottoms. this will be your petal template. then cut 5 petals out of superstretch. make them just a small amount larger than your petal pattern because you need room to overlap the wire. take floral wire and bend it into the leaf pattern shape. run a bead of glue (hot glue or e-6000) over the wire and sit onto the center of the superstretch petal. then run another bead of glue on top of the wire and fold over your superstretch to cover the wire. after the glue dries, bend it slightly so it makes a petal shape. connect all 5 petals, put a stone in the center to cover seams and stone edges. i hope i didn't confuse you....i'm not so good at giving directions LOL

Hello Ladies,

Was just wondering if anyone had time to make me 3 babydoll dresses for flowergirl dresses. My sister is getting married, and I thought how cute my 3 babies would look in babydoll style dresses! I would usually make them myself, but I do not have time (I need them in 3 weeks, LOL!). Anyway, if anyone is interested, shot me an e-mail. If not, I will have to suck it up and make them myself, LOL. The sizes would be 2T, 3T, and 5. They need to be halter style, plain white.

I need like four of the swirls? I don't really want to go with ebay because some want to charge you more to ship the item than you actually paid for it to begin with. I use to work at the post office I know its doesn't cost that much to send something at its weight.

I only need the the swirl base no stonework they are for a natural gown.

It is cotton lycra. Usually comes in white and black. The white takes die pretty well if you want to match a particular color.

25 pair of childrens jazz shoes! $25 for the lot plus shipping.

I used them to decorate for sportswears and talent outfits. A variety of sizes, black and white, bootie and regular. Most are split sole. You can save them to use for outfits or resell them!

Start by sitting down and listing every expense you can think of for a pageant - from the postage for mailouts to the crowns. Don't leave anything out and force yourself to consider all the incidentals expenses such as the gas you will use running around and buying gifts. Force yourself to be honest about the price of things, the true quantity needed, and a realistic number of contestants for your first pageant.

Divide the total projected expense by 60% of the number of contestants you projected and that is the MINIMUM you can charge for entry fees. If that looks doable then ask yourself where the money will come from to pay all the upfront fees. Very few people will pay deposits until the last minute. Remember that not every contestant will enter all events unless you have a flat rate pageant.

Plan every last detail on paper before you spend one penny or make any sort of public announcement......and the hardest part - grow some very thick skin! Good luck!
