Subject: Quoting From Something You Don't Believe In

I find this truly amazing...I really do. Glen in not the only one who quotes verses from books that he does not believe in. The COC does it all the time. Whenever they have a point to prove, whenever it backs up one of the beliefs that they are pushing, there it is. They think that they have won; but, in fact, they have not.

A favorite verse of theirs is "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God." Now, mind you, that is not a false scripture, but neither is the rest of King Benjamin's sermon. So, of course, I thought that I could post the rest of it on the COC board. To which, it was promptly removed. I was told that I was only trying to cause trouble. ???

The webmaster, more than once has made posts telling the COC people what a bad person Mamusz is. He tells them that he knows what my motive is. EarthAngel says some very nasty things to me. Do they stay on? You betcha!

What I am trying to say is: The COC and Glen seem to have this strategy down pretty well, don't you think? It isn't that I don't believe the scriptures that they post, but they use certain scriptures to their advantage. I try to stay away from scriptures that they can easily twist. Hey, maybe that's what's wrong with my scriptures. Ya think?

Joanne
