Subject: Italian vs. American CC

I know that this is a touchy subject with alot of owners/breeders, but I was looking for some opinions on the differences between American vs Italian bred dogs. I recognize several faults in each one (although I own an American-bred)
1)American dogs tend to be large to the extreme and often not as athletic, with noses that are often too long, and
2)Italian dogs being bred now (although not all) seem to over-emphasize the shorter nose and athletic type to the extent that they look ALOT like a different colored Boxer.
some say that this is what SACC is striving for; I am unsure here. I am of the opinion from the research that I have done that the true Corso should be somewhere in the middle; neither looking like a Boxer or a Neopolitan Mastiff.

I am looking into getting a female for breeding purposes down the road and if anyone has any suggestions (short of importing) on kennels that have quality dogs with mainly italian bloodlines that would be great.

I dont want to start a fight, but I would like to hear opinions! FYI my CC is a blue 1 yr. old male that is ~145 lbs (and is very handsome!) let me know if anyone would be interested in seeing pics.
