Subject: BOD DEADPOOL 2024

Some slight rule changes from the past.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

• Pick 10 celebrities who you think will die before the end of 2024. Iif there is a Wikipedia page dedicated to that person, they count as notable.

• Select one of those 10 celebrities as your franchise pick. Only you can pick this person, and it is on a first come, first serve basis. Any of your 9 other picks can be celebrities that others have also selected, but the franchise will be unique to your “roster.”

• If one of your picks dies, you are awarded points according to the scoring system below, and may select a replacement pick to fill your roster. If your franchise pick dies you may elevate someone else on your roster to be the new franchise or select an entirely new celebrity.

Scoring

Points are generally awarded via a celebrity’s age:
<31: 16 Points
31-40: 14 Points
41-50: 12 Points
51-60: 10 Points
61-70: 8 Points
71-80: 6 Points
81-90: 4 Points
>90: 2 Points

However, there are some scoring modifiers:

• PRE-EXISTING (PE) CONDITIONS: A celebrity is only worth ½ Points to the player if another player calls out a celebrity as having pre-existing conditions. This is a health condition (other than age) that immediately threatens the person’s health. Dr. A (he’s a doctor) will make decisions on if a called condition is valid, although you may appeal to the “Supreme Court” (Bizcocho).

• Another player must call out a PE within a week of that pick being selected. If it is not called out, the pick is worth full points.

• If the celebrity who has a called out PE dies, the person who called the condition receives the other ½ Points that were deducted.

• The Bob Rule: Bobs are always worth full points and are exempt from PEs.

• Franchise picks are worth double points. e.g. if your franchise pick is 37 years old and does not have pre-existing conditions called against them, they are worth 28 points.

Other Rules:

• July Death Swap: Mid-year and dissatisfied with your still-alive picks? During the month of July you will be able to drop up to 5 of your picks and select new names.

• You will be disqualified from the dead pool and lose for killing any celebrities yourself (this includes challenging celebrities to dangerous games, Max). Do not do this.

• The Mr. Perfect Rule (in memory of Stormfire): If you select an already dead celebrity and they come back to life, only to die again, you automatically win the dead pool.

TIMEFRAME & SENDING PICKS:

• If you are reading this, the 2024 Board of Doom Dead Pool has begun. Unlike previous years there are no “deadlines” for when you need to get your picks in by. Individuals can join now, a month from now, mid-year, December, whenever.

• All you have to do is send Dr. A your picks, and they will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. The sooner you send in your picks, the sooner you can secure a franchise that only you can have without someone else blocking you from selecting them.

• Options to send picks to Dr. A include:

1. Old School Style: Reply here on the Board of Doom (and get an extra 11th pick for FREE!)

3. Send a Discord Direct message to Dr. A: @edhaberman

4. Reply to the BoD Dead Pool message on the Wrassle[dot]Net Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2609830162

Remember that whenever a new or replacement pick is made by someone else, you have one week to call pre-existing conditions via the same forms of communications listed above.

The 2024 BoD Dead Pool concludes on December 31, 2024 at 11:59:59PM EST, after which a winner will be awarded. The award will be absolutely nothing. Just bragging rights.
