I mentioned the shrine in an earlier post, but here's what I think:

If you honestly believe that the LQ baiting and mocking needs to stop, then you should take the shrine down *now.* I don't care that LQ has *finally* given permission for her work to be archived there--the shrine wasn't created as to honor her, it was created so people could read her fics and point and laugh. If you now belive that pointing and laughing is wrong, then you should take the shrine down.

If you're worried about what other people will think, then you need to get over that. ;-) And if the opinions of others are that important, then you should take the shrine down.

If you don't particularly care, or if you don't mind the idea of people pointing and laughing at her fics and rants (because, honestly, what justification is there for posting copies of rants from her private Neopets guild, other than to point and laugh?), then leave it up.

None of these options are coming from my own sense of "right" and "wrong," but from my opinion of what is your most logical course of action if you feel certain ways. But if you *truly* believe that baiting and taunting LQ is wrong, then you'll get rid of that shrine. Preaching about the former while supporting the latter is inexcusable. It was created for purposes of mockery, and it remains a vehicle for mockery...it's been linked from elsewhere on the web as a great source of mockable fic. What *else* is a visitor going to do when reading LQ's fics and rants but point and laugh at her stupidity?

(Personally, I think "My Inner Life" is the worst and most unintentionally hilarious piece of fanfiction I've ever read, and I will mock it all I want. But I think it's disingenuous to say that you're going to stop picking on LQ *and* keep the shrine up.)
