Actually, I realize that. Unfortunately for Metropolis, I didn't see it until 2002, obviously WELL after the basic message has been used about 18 gazillion times over. Certainly not limited to just in anime, either.

yeah, it is beautifully made. Some of the most fluid animation I think I've ever seen in anime, proving the Richard Roeper is still a dork (herky jerky animation MY ASS!).
