Subject: The Official Pilot Canidate Shrine of Hate

I usually give shows a couple of episodes to warm up to me, but man is pilot canidate bad, dare i say it, but it treads yu gi oh territory. The show is a combination of like Evangelion and Battle Athletes, thats what it "reminds" me of. Theres nothing particularly bad about the show physically, the animations "ok but not great" and the dub is "ok but not great" all of the awfulness lies in the shows storyline and characters.

First theres been like 6 episodes on TV so far and absolutly nothings happened yet. They fought some poor CG Eva Angel rip off thing once and thats about it. The rest has been like 2 1/2 hours of filler. The stories taken no direction, and has yet to really explain anything, but then again there isnt much to explain because the characters dont do anything.

The characters are the worst offenders, they are so lame. Every overused archtype imaginable is in this cast, we have a "cat girl", a "moody loner", a "brainy nerd", a "silly but when he gets serious hes good" good guy and some rei ayanami clone. None of the characters really do anything except drain the life out of the show and lack any personality. the ABSOLUTE WORST thing about this show is when it tries to get "deep"... you know how in evangelion the characters would sit and think and get all deep. Well Pilote canidate tries to do that depspratly but it's like it's being done with bad actors, who just try to hard. They'll sit and look all moody and repeat one supposdley dramatic line over and over in there head but it just comes off as cheesy. It's cheesyness is amplified 200% because of how little you care about the characters.

The costume designer for this show should be drug out into the street and shot. I don't throw the term "gay" around I use it to specifically mean either homosexual or it's happy meaning, with that said i have to say the boys wear THE ABSOLUTE GAYEST COSTUME on earth. It's not even a cool gay look like with jojo's BA, those guys have real attitude coming from there costumes, and they come off cool and unique. No these costumes are bad, first off the boys all wear daisy duke shorts, now thats sort of gay, but i guess the designer said, not gay enough, lets add a pair of micro cut off chaps! If any regular guy wore these shorts there balls would be hanging out. The designer then thought the costume was pretty gay but still needs a kick it up a knotch... so he makes these big loose shirts with huge arm holes so you can see there chest when you look at them from the side. The designer needed that gay cherry on top to complete the ensamble and qualify the costume as the gayest costume ever, so he gives them big open collars with the collars up look. Insert 12 year old boys into the costume and viola! Thats just the standard "military" costumes, the other guys wear "custom" costumes thats would make liberachi blush. Those angel rip off things are probably trying to eradicate those awful costumes, not that planet.

Why am i watching the show if i hate it so much? Eh, cuz it's on between cowboy bebop and Gundam 0083, so what the heck.

And how come that guys giving me the finger everytime he adjust his glasses, i'm surprised it didnt get edited ;-p
