First of all I'd like to say that I didn't really blame Tina for any of this, I just haven't ruled her out yet! This has to be someone that knows far to much about me and the town where I live! hmmmmmmm! You know pageants used to be fun, everyone got along, etc. When we started back in pageants I noticed that all of the good people have left! I wonder why? it used to be about having pretty clothes, being able to model, having the right hair and makeup etc. Now it is more about paying your dues, being excepted, and building a name for yourself! If you want to pick on me because I am middle class then go ahead! After reading these posts I realized that it's all about money and what you've got! If you've got something in life, than your child can't get anything in pageants! I don't need your approval anyhow! Someone also posted something about my child's swimwear! Let me tell you, her bathingsuit did not come from Walmart andwe did decorate it! We've had the finest clothes before and my girls still didn't win fashion..so go figure! If I would have spent $300 on a bathing suit they still would not win fashion! I hate to be this blunt, but after reading this crap, this is the way I feel! Kristin Smith

You're right-- to be successful in pageants these days you HAVE to build up name recognition. You build up name recognition by getting top name designer clothes, pictures, and going to a coach with political clout. And THEN, you have to "pay your dues" with the coach in order to get to the top of her list of priority people she helps win. (NT) -- It's sad, but true. T he smart people who don't have the money to compete like this HAVE gotten out of pageants.
