Author: It's sad, but true. T he smart people who don't have the money to compete like this HAVE gotten out of pageants. We'll probably get out too, because I 'm not willing to go into debt over pageants.
Subject: You're right-- to be successful in pageants these days you HAVE to build up name recognition. You build up name recognition by getting top name designer clothes, pictures, and going to a coach with political clout. And THEN, you have to "pay your dues" with the coach in order to get to the top of her list of priority people she helps win.
