“Whatever” blasts over the speakers, and the fans rise to their feet for the arrival of “The Canadian Crippler” Chris Benoit! Jax runs down how well Benoit did in the Royal Rumble after entering the match at number two as he makes his way down to the ring.









"Evolve" comes on the speakers after Benoit stays in the ring for a bit. Its followed out by Evolution's juggernaut Matt Morgan!


Heyman: "Chris Benoit may be the Canadian Crippler, Jax...but Matt Morgan is brutality defined! The Royal Rumble was thirty on thirty, but tonight? Its one on one!"


Benoit paces inside of the ring, waiting for Morgan to enter. Matt goes onto the apron and steps over the ring ropes, staring right in on Benoit and going right on the attack before his music even finishes. He plows towards the Crippler and swings a clubbing forearm from the start! Benoit ducks the shot and blasts Morgan with a chop as he turns around. He follows it up with a few solid right hands and shoves him into the ropes, going to fire him across but Morgan reverses, and he drops Benoit on the return with a shoulder block!

Benoit goes rolling all the way across the ring, popping back up to his feet and rubbing the back of his head, looking forward. Morgan doesn’t let him up for a second, charging him in the corner and lifting him up with a football tackle, driving him into the corner. Matt holds onto the second rope and starts drilling Benoit into the midsection with shoulder blocks. He finally stands up after the barrage and puts a HARD open palmed shot across Chris' chest! Benoit hunches over as he stumbles away from the ropes, breathing heavily after that last shot. Once Morgan approaches, Benoit puts a boot to his mid section and fires off with another chop.

Matt backs up from the chops, fuming up from them and turns to answer Benoit with one of his own. He stands and dares him to send another shot. Benoit fires one away, and then a second, and a third, showing Morgan what REAL chops are like. He moves him into the ropes and goes to fire him across, but Morgan reverses once more, and this time Benoit comes roaring in off the ropes with a double forearm shot to the chest, taking him down to his ass! As soon as Morgan rebounds back up to his feet, Benoit goes to take him over with a snap suplex, but Morgan stands firm. Matt then easily hoists Benoit into the air for a suplex of his own, and he slams him front side up onto the mat!

Matt then goes right back on the assault, pulling Benoit up partially by the hair and clubbing a forearm across the front of his face, forcing him to drop back to the mat. Morgan reaches down and twists on Benoit's face, finally letting go and noticing blood on his fingers. He absentmindedly reaches over and wipes his hand off on the ref's shirt, and goes right back to pulling on Benoit, twisting a broken nose out of shape!

Benoit growls from the pain and puts his hands down beneath Morgan's, forcing him off of his face. Chris starts to push up against him and move slowly to one knee. The fans cheer and support Benoit in his movements and explode when he keeps Matt's arm held. The Crippler then swoops behind him and powers the goliath over with a German Suplex! Benoit keeps his fingers locked and pulls him up to his feet, trying to take Morgan over with a second but gets stumbled back by an elbow shot. Matt then comes in with a lariat, but Benoit ducks beneath it and takes Morgan over with a second German! The crowd pops as Benoit goes right up to his feet, giving them to throat flash signal! He goes up to the top rope and measures Morgan, and then flies off with the Swandive head butt, but Morgan rolls out of the way and Benoit goes head first into the mat!

Matt goes right back up at this point, reaching around and lifting Benoit in a gut wrench suplex and flipping him over the shoulder, setting up for a Dominator! Morgan goes to drop forward but Benoit slides out and lands on his back, sliding him down into a Crossface! The crowd goes WILD as Benoit pulls back on Morgan's neck, wrenching it out of place! Matt's eyes bulge out of his head as he reaches for the ropes, missing them and smacking his hand on the mat from each miss! The referee sees the hand motion and signals to the timekeeper on the tap out!

"Whatever" blasts back over the speakers as Benoit releases Morgan, making his claim for the World Championship!
