is absolutely essential for physical life the Spirit of God is absolutely essential for the union with God that brings us to the eternal afterlife with Him.

Just as water fills whatever vessel that holds it, whether it be a glass, pool sides, pond bank or the sea shores the spirit fills the Christian vessel that belongs to God.

This is why water is used to illustrate the Spirit of God. Air is also used but we shouldn't forget that the air itself contains much water most of the time.
