I have to agree with part of this. My sister and I were born to live this life. I knew it before I knew what is was. It is just an instinctual knowledge, love for and understanding of the music/lifestyle. The rest is a learned attitude from living the life, making mistakes, being open minded and understanding of a groupie's role in the rock world...because we do have one.
Having a certain amount of self respect and class is also huge! You can't be just some gum chomping hottie and be a backstage queen.
There also has to be a built in greater strength for us ladies because we have to put up with so much B.S. Not to mention a certain patience that isn't learned but inherited.
The energy one sends off gets you backstage...not your stupid hair color and if that's what you think...you weren't born to do this at all. Your looks may get you laid by a rocker but it won't gain you a good position in the backstage world...because there is a heiarchy in the backstage world. Some groupies are star fucking, one night what was your name again girls, some are every time I am in your town girls and some are world traveled, home phone number, rock star house key having groupies. And some are all of these, depending on what they want out of it and how they play it.
I can assure you, it wasn't any hair color I have had (and I had all of them) that has maintained my reputation and friendships...two decades of touring, living with and hanging out with rock stars was not solidified by being blond. hehehe...
