You left off "fashion designer." LOL!
Seriously, there are plenty of women who started out in the business simply doing what is expected of their job [i.e., photographer, merch girl, etc.] and got involved with the band member[s] later.
But you're right: I, for one, have more respect for people who are HONEST about WHATEVER they do -- even if they're just in it to meet the musicians, you know? -- than those who put up a front.
Remember the Tool/Maynard Keenan thread? When we were discussing how he only wanted "casual" sex [as opposed to a relationship]? Whatever your opinion on that sort of thing, you can't fault him for being HONEST. I have a lot of respect for him, even if I don't necessarily agree with what he's doing.
There's a world of difference between someone who is in the business and ends up dating/sleeping with musicians [because, really, what else are you going to meet in this business?], and someone who got into the business simply to sleep with musicians AND LIES ABOUT IT [i.e., the aforementioned "fashion designer," "manager," "photographer," etc.]
