This is very true and I would add older ones who acted that way while young or still tend to. Fans, particularly male variety, stick up for or try to justify their hero's behavior, claiming that girls back then looked and acted older or that no one knew their age.

Of course they also chalked it up to the rock & roll lifestyle, which is a weak explanation. There are plenty of rockers who go for legal age teens or women in their twenties. In fact there are women near thirty who look like they're closer to nineteen. Yet actual young teens were still sought out.

Some players kept far from legal teens around not only for their egos but because, despite how precocious they may have been, were still easier to manipulate. Look how Lori M. said that Jimmy P. took her to foreign countries where she didn't know the language and kept her in the room. Add to that playing her against other, actual of age women.

It's also true that those who like young teens are now up against more tabloids competing with the internet and all the websites and blogs. It can help spread hook ups and fan propaganda, but also makes it harder to be secretive, which for some matters is a good thing.
