I can tell who knew Layne and Demri. I did. I mis them both being around. As far as all the carrying on with indulging in sex it did go both ways.
They had an open relationship. They were young. There were many reasons they were together and for so long. They shared the same values and that meant they were not conservative reardng sex. He also told me that Demri was the only woman he really loved. She as so pretty an fun and also creative. I have many memories of the them. I am straight laced and loved Layne. I knew hm before his fame. He was easy to fall for, but he and Demri clicked. I did not understand why they carried on the way they did but after reading his Moms info. on the tribute website I do now. Another myth that Laynes fans have is that they would have saved him if they were around him. NOT SO. I talked frequently with until the end of his life and he would threaten to cut you off if there was mention of rehab. With any addict it is not going to happen unless they want it. Demri stopped by my place about a month before she died. That was it. Too young and full of promise to die (both of them). Too bad Laynes mom will no longer be having a tribute.
