I always took it as a compliment when anybody's fans mistook me for a groupie because it was always asked in a sort of awed tone of voice and it meant I looked glamourous/hot enough to be rock star catnip! I know what you mean by the female crew or whatever looking down on you, but they do not lead a fun life. It's hard work what they do and it takes its toll on them physically. Plus a lot of the time they will not be hired if the band thinks these women are going to be hitting on them from the get-go or doing it in any way to get close to them.
