Beth's sister, Nancy(?) knew about this page, because someone had her aolim sn (dazydarln). Beth has used it a few times to chat with some of us. Someone imed Nancy asking if she was Beth, not realizing that it was Nancy's sn Beth had used before. She was told that people were worried about her and to go to this board. Nancy then came here and posted that she's not Beth. So, we still don't know if Beth is safe or not. :-( Beth - you are in our prayers.

I'm OK! Thanks for your concern. I was last online on Sept 5th. On the 6th during a wind storm, I had power surges that fried my clock radio, answering machine, vcr, cd player, and surge protector. Thankfully my computer equipment was on the surge protector and is ok. It effected 4 trialers, my neighbor lost his fridge, which is worth more than everything I lost. It took about 4 days for them to fix the power (weekend etc.). Right after the power people left on Monday afternoon, I discovered my phone was dead! It had been ok until then, I think the electric people jostled the wires. The phone company finally fixed the phone line today. I am way behind on email and have a lot of catching up, but I'm ok. I was feeling sorry for myself until Tuesday's events. That really puts things in perspective.

disaster tends to draw together, rather than tear apart. hopefully that will be the case here. i fear for the innocent who will be scapegoated for the guilty - right now i see a tendency toward witch-hunting. scary. as for bush's agendas, i find most of them to be self-serving. trying to explain to a child why his leader was hiding in a protective facility while the people he represents were left vulnerable was a difficult task.
