Well ! What can you say, I have only seen about half a dozen of these shows but in last nights episode and a previous one featuring a dispute between Paul and Lee, Love island has totally eclipsed all 80 days around the world of Big Brother!
To set the scene... Lee has "paired off" with Playboy model Colleen for quite some time. He thinks she is "the one" and is reasonably nauseating in the attention he pays to her. For instance, he sings to her ALL day, and for those who recall his singing on Soapstar Superstar, you can imagine how bad that gets after a few hours! Anyhoo, the crux is that Colleen not only doesn't feel the same, but she has at least twice tried to deal with it by telling him so. Unfortunately, her attempts to tell him have foundered somewhat due to the fact that she prefixes everything with "Oh ,Lee, you know I love you" at which point Lee is transported into reverie. The nearest she came to getting her point across was one night when he reached for her hand she did actually say " i don't think we;re ready for that" but then spoiled it all by saying "..yet". Duh. Anyway, apart from Lee , EVERYONE else knows that she just wants to be his friend.
So, last night - now you have to sit back and imagine this because it's really really evil - all the boys were given a "lads night out". They went into another hut which was set up as a casino, and had cigars , booze some games AND a TV screen where they could watch the girls undressing and such like ( I feel like a perve , said Chris Brosnan). Not only could they watch , however , but they could listen. So, of course , Collen sat down and started talking about how difficult it was not being able to tell Lee how she really felt! One of the lads offered to dip the sound but Lee was frozen..."No, let it play" he said. Well, the looks on the faces of Shane, Chris and Abs were a picture! It was "ouch, that's gotta hurt" mixed with "OMG, this is ****ing HYSTERICAL!" but on and on and on it went as the poor guy was flayed alive in public! Shane won a million votes by putting his arm around him and nursing him through but wow, what entertainment.
Anyway, they were released back to the main site and Brendon ran to tell Colleen what had happened, not sneakily , I hasten to add. So she and Lee went for "a talk" which erupted spectacularly with Lee kicking a tree and throwing a right wobbly! Bianca went to intervene and Lee turned on her! Brendon intervened quite inpressively and Lee went off and basically trashed the Diary Room. The only thing missing was Paul and Sophie who were on a day trip - now that was a SHAME!
ANyway, the day ended with Paul being voted off and Lee has now shaved his head and looks like Paul. Spectacular fun. GREAT tv! And Calum best is arriving tonight!
