Yeah, Dave. There does seem to be differences between the 89 & 90. My 90 doesn't have vacuum advance, the computer does it all.

I would think, however, that the white mark is TDC, and the red mark indicates 15 degrees BTDC on all models. Not sure though. If this is true, you may have installed the timing belt while lined up on the 15 degree mark, and probably a tooth off. How is it running?

I think Glen is very familiar with this series Accord, so hopefully he can add some (more experienced) advice. I have asked for his input in the subject line.
