Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I think the 89 is different from the 90-91 models. the Haynes and Chilton books cover them seperately.

According to the under-hood sticker, I only have to disconnect the vacuum advance hoses from the distributor - no mention of jumping any pins on the service connector.

Yes, there are two white marks and a red mark. I assumed that the red mark was TDC when I did the timing belt on this car. i had the head off at the time and the red mark was aligned when the #1 piston was at TDC. But who knows - there is only a few degrees difference between the red and white marks.

If I did it wrong I may have to remove the belt and reinstall it a tooth or two one direction or the other.

Any additional thoughts?
