those who have to serve. In our country no one HAS to serve--it's all voluntary. In many other countries, service is not voluntary and those who are compelled to fight for something they do not believe in should not be judged. Pres. Hinckley, et al, did not "serve" in the true sense of the word, they were compelled, through the draft, to fulfill military duty. There was nothing wrong with them complying with those orders and they should not be judged because they were involved in a war, regardless of whether or not the war was just.

Yes, serving in the military IS a noble profession, as long as the military is used for noble purposes. Bookkeeping is also a noble profession. But if an employer asks his bookkeeper to cook the books he has two choices--resign or comply with the boss' orders and forfeit his integrity. If he chooses the latter, his profession is no longer noble.

The same is true with our military. They may have chosen the career for noble reasons, with a desire to serve one's country, to defend the rights and preserve the safety of our people. That is commendable. But "when a long train of abuses...pursuing invariably the same objective..." shows that the noble intentions of those serving are being preverted to serve an imperialistic agenda, those volunteers in the military have two choices: comply and compromise one's integrity or resign.

P.S. I was unable to find an online version of the video. Where/how is it available?
