The Four Star General who spoke for quite a while on the video, stayed in the military by choice. I believe that a copy of it was sent out to all units, so if you ask your bishop, he will likely have it.
I suppose that people can read anything that they want into it, but I thought that it was very well done and told members of the military, that it was OK to be a soldier, even by choice and they were very complimentary to those who choice to serve their respective countries and decide to make it their careers. As a spouse of a member of the military, who is about to see her husband go to Afghanistan for a year, it was very inspiring and uplifting to hear those words coming forth from the Lord's servants.
