But you can be forgiven for an abortion?!...and forgiven without the sheding of your own blood.

Maybe Heavenly Father has chosen not to tell us when the spirit enters the baby's body.
Maybe He just wants us to learn to have faith in His word.
He has told us through a living prophet there is to be no abortion. Only in certain extream cases should it even be a slight possibility and even then only with much prayer and fasting.
I for one in those cases do not want a government....any government to be involved. I do not trust them in such important matters.
Lets be real...our government allowed the buying and selling of human beings. Our government has in times past taken American citizens and rounded them up and put them in "camps"..no trial, because the country of their for fathers were at war with us. Our government has allowed and encouraged the wiping out of entire groups of people(men women and children) because we wanted their lands. We are the only nation to have used nukes on cilivian cities...or to have used them on other human beings at all. We are a nation that is doing pre-emptive strikes on a nation that has never attacked us. We have people in DC that I wouldnt trust to take care of my dog...the dog I am trying to get rid of.
I do not trust these people with this sort of thing.

Abortion like the brethern have said is a horror. Something to be avoided. If you've made a mistake and have found yourself pregnant....that is NOT an excuse for an abortion.
Abortion should be an extreamly rare thing...only done in EXTREAM need. Wouldnt that get rid of about 99.9% of abortions?

I'm not sure I have a problem with the Churchs position.
There are things we know now that we did not know even 20 yrs ago.
Church position has changed over time with further light, knowledge and understanding.
Pristhood blessings are now enjoyed by ALL races.
Women are encouraged to get an education so if the need arises where she HAS to work she can do so with the least amount of hrs spent out of the home.
The church one strongly encouraged us to have as many babies as possible...however now the policy is to have as many as you can take care of....maybe because we no longer live in a world where there is grandmas and aunts close by to help out with the kids.
There are many reasons..many we not be aware of.

I'm not saying we should blindly follow...not even the prophet.
We should go to our Heavenly Father in prayer and fasting for conformation on such important issues. Because in the end we are each responsible for getting our own answers to our own prayers. We have to think for our selves.

I just think abortion should remain legel for the situations that a living prophet of God has stated.
But who should determine who is to have this kind of abortion and should should not?....
I just do NOT trust our curent government and those who are running it to make those decisions.
I would rather leave it to the mother and father in those situations.

Its a hard one...but I cant imagine trusting Bush and company...I wouldnt even trust them with my dog....
I'm rambling.....

I would never encourage anyone to get one...in fact a young woman I lived next to over 20 yrs ago got pregnant.
She was only about 19 and unmarried and very very depressed.
Her mom, sisters and doctor were pressuring her to get an abortion. They told her that at three months unlong her baby didnt even look like a baby. They told her it just looked like a ball of cells at 12 weeks!!!!!!!
I knew this was a lie.
I showed her my college biology textbook(non-religious). It had a human development chart in it. It showed what a human "fetus" looked like at each stage of development.
At 12 weeks it looks like a very small humanbeing.
She was shocked and even more upset. She told me she just couldnt take care of a baby right now. I told her she could give the baby up for adoption. She said she couldnt because she would feel guilty. I said "you would feel guilty about giving your child up for adoption but you would'nt feel guilty about aborting it?"....we of course that upset her too.
To make a long story short...she didnt have the abortion. She married the father of the baby. She had a very beautiful baby girl. She went back to college and after 2 yrs got a scharship to a 4 yr university to persue a jurnalism(sp?) degree.
Before I moved away from Michigan and lost touch with her she told me that she KNEW that it was satan that was trying to convince her to kill her baby. She said her life would have been so much worse without her baby.

You know it was the doctor's lies that upset me the most. Telling her a 12 week along baby only looks like a ball of cells...is....well....there is no excuse to lie.

anyway.
There is a young woman out there today who would not be if the doctors lies were let go unchallenged.

one of my daughters asked me if I would kick them out of the house if they ever found themselves pregnant.(they have friends who this happened to). I told them that I would not but that we would go to counsiling to figure out what would be the best for them and for the baby as far as after the birth.

I could go on forever but now that you are all asleep even if you did make it this far.........
