I am glad you got there safley . How were the clouds? Do they at least fly you first class since they didn't give you any notice? While you are there where do you live? Do they set you up with a furnished apartment with a microwave and fridge and stuff and if not where and how do you eat? Do they give you money for groceries or do you eat out mostly? Because your an officer ....do you just have to tell people what to do? I don't have any idea what an officer or seargant does on a training deployment.
:
How did your wife take it? Doesn't she get lonley while you are gone? How do you guys communicate during your stay? Can you talk on the phone every day and if so for how long? Do you get weekends off so that you can go shopping and go see a movie and stuff? During the week when you are working there what are your hours and how much of your own free time do you have ? When do you have to get up for work and when do you get off while your there? I assume your paychecks still go to your wife while you have to be there so do they give you your own seperate paycheck or a bonus while you are there for spending money?.
Do they supply you with a car or rental car so you can go do things in your free time?
:
By the way I have always respected you but now that I found out the way that you and your family have to be seperated for long period of times like this with no notice and at the drop of a hat I appreciate and respect what you do and the rest of the armed forces do for me and everybody else so much more. I don't know . I know you said it's part of the deal and it's voluntary and all but it still makes me mad. In my eyes for anybody to do that for us means a great deal to me but you and your family should be totally compensated for that kind of sacrifice and that means making at least 60 grand a year to start out. I think officers pay should go up from there to reward those who wish to stay and move up the ranks like you have and someone like you should maybe be making about 75-80 grand a year. Without you guys we wouldn't have anything so you should be compensated well for the critical sacrifice and work you do for the rest of the country.
