Subject: How come Conservatives don't get called out when they whine (Re: Scarborough Country)

Why does this whiny, moon-faced, piggy-eyed bitch with an over-exaggerated persecution complex have a TV show?

I caught a snippet of show last night where he wished he could report DC Comics to HUAC. It seems they're running a plot line where Lex Luthor is the President of the US and (gasp) Superman takes him aside and says "not everyone agrees with you..." on something.

Joey proceeded to whine along the lines of "Our Children (whine whine) left-wing propaganda (whine whine)"

Granted, the only comics store I've been in is Comic Swap in State College PA and I never saw any kids there. Teens, folks in their 20s, guys that think they can pull off floor length duster jackets and not look ridiculous, but no kids. I am always amused by folks (usu. conservative) that are horrified that there is more to comics that guys in tights, and that there are folks out there such as Neil Gaiman, Grant Morrison, Sam Keith, and Alan Moore that are experimenting with the narrative abilities of the medium, and some of those stories are dark, or at least chalenging.

It make me want to send joey a few selections from The Invisibles, esp the ones involving the Marquis de Sade, Lord Fanny the transvesite hooker shaman, and so on. With any luck, he'll have a stroke.

So, what with the Right these days spewing rage on objects inversely proportional to their threat to the Republic. "France Sucks!" seems to be ingrained into some people at the Pavlovian level, whilst Saudi Arabia enables terror (and hypocritally claims to be an Island of Piety in a world threatened by the "decadent" West whilst giving shelter to Idi Amin, a man with the blood of multitudes on his hands) and Donald Rumsfeld continues in his project to make Robert S. McNamara look like a latter day Alexander the Great.

So, let's review:

Threats to the Homeland
The Dixie Chicks
DC Comics
France
Painfully Earnest Hollywood actors
Non-Blond People Reading a Magazine with the headline "Weapons of Mass Stupidity".

Not Threats
Donald Rumsfeld's stinginess in things martial
Saudi Arabia
Plans to cut Imminent Danger Pay to soldiers in combat theaters
Triple Amputee Vietnam Vets

Well, that clears things up...
