Rush's problem with chemical dependency should not be mocked. Rush needs vast quantities of illegaly-obtained opiates to ease the great burden of his quest for truth, which burden has been amplified by the talent that he has own loan from God.

Sure, he was probably high as a kite on many days he did he radio show, and sure this might seem like he was being a hypocrite by preaching family values while enjoying the pleasurable sensation of Oxycontin, but if Billy Bennet can be excused for gambling away a few millions dollars in casinos, then surely we can look the other way when Rush enjoys controlled Class II opiates.

Courtney Love just overdosed on illegal drugs this morning and was arrested. This is quite different from Rush because, 1) Courtney is a liberal, and 2) Rush has not overdosed and knows how to use illegal drugs in moderation. Such conservative moderation in all things is godly, for Paul said, "Let all things be done in moderation." Paul also said, "Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself in that which he allows," and, "To the holy all things are holy."

Clearly, we have a form of godliness in all things. Christians, even when we use Class II opiates illegally or, as did King David, kill the man whose wife you have gotten pregnant, are still loved and forgiven by Jesus, for his shed blood means that crime and immorality do not exist in the eyes of God. When God looks at a Christian he sees the words, "PAID IN FULL" written in the blood. This means that God loves his children and forgives. And if God forgives, who are we not to forgive other Christians? However, no such rule exists for liberals, for we are to hate them with a holy hatred, God be praised.

Can't you see that two standards apply? Sinners have no status before God and are hellbound. The saved, and this includes Rush, are not perfect, but they are forgiven and that makes all the difference in the world.

BTW, if you see Rush tell him that he left about 200 Percodan here at the Trailer Rancho last time he stayed. Well, make that 100, because I needed to borrow some after I strained my shoulder lifting an orphan over at the children's home. She was sixteen and petite, but I must have moved my arm the wrong way or something.
