Soooooooooo, do you know anyone to do the rubbing? HHHHHHHHHHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

So, how do you cope with this inequity? Are you akin to the ancient (or possibly very present) Romans, who seem to just find a way to "live gracefully" anyway? I find myself to be sandwiched between acceptance and small fits of rebellious unhappiness at the way SOME PEOPLE get the premium treatment!

Ah, well, it's just the way it's always been, right? Strikes me as interesting the idea some people living in the most hopeless, squalid circumstances appear to be quite OK with their plight. In fact, judging from some foreign witnesses, the poor in India have been seen displaying lots of smiles, unbelieveable joy (perhaps bordering on rapture), and contentedness unlike anything most of us (rich and priviledged beyond compare) have ever (or seldom) experienced. How can this be?

For me, the Buddha had it right - the death of speculation is the end of ill. In other words, I worry too much. I take far too much time out of my life ruminating about what others can get away with or possess and not enough time just living and appreciating EXISTENCE. Hey, nothing - absolutely nothing was promised to me. Yet, I think I yearn to be priviledged. How absurd! In many ways, to many people, I am. Perhaps that's why my karmic makeup includes bi-polar disorder, childhood sexual abuse, and or etc. Yet, sometimes I wonder about those little, smiling children (old and young alike) in India. How many of them suffer from the same things I do and still see their way into the joyful beauty life has to offer? HHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM..........
