Very sardonic, yet existentially taut. The cartoon works.

There is, however, a technical error in the cartoon that could cost you dearly when you are attacked by Christians. The fact is that Jesus was dead when his side was pierced. I mention this as a Devil's advocate because an attacking Christian will cite the lack of biblical accuracy and dismiss the cartoon entirely and thereby miss the irony of the cartoon.

Steve: You're doing some very sophisticated work here. I offer my critique as a friend who wants to see your work be as powerful and accurate as possible. Unless of course, the side wound is shtick, in which case it detracts.

The last panel is killer. The words are terrific. I also liked the zoom in effect on the Savior. The strong lines in his face and body are cool, as is the blood from his mouth.

Sweet cartoon, dude!
