In order to appreciate the extent of what is told I'm going to set the environment. The subject, whom experienced this paranormal event was male and 4 or 5 years old at the time. The house was single story poorly built and aging. Nestled off a dirt rutted road from the major highway. A large Oak in the back yard, to the left side of the house was another poorly built single story home. To the left of that home was woods and a creek. You must also realize that technology of the time was primitive to say the least. A severe poverty stricken area.
When all was in bed and asleep the following event took place. In the middle of the night this young boy was awakened by his mother where he shared a single small bed with his brother. Now his mother had been widowed since 1956 which has nothing to do with this event. To continue, his mother came to the bed where he was sleeping and woke him up and told him to come and sleep with her in her bedroom. The young boy thought nothing of it since there would be more room. However, upon approaching his Mother's bedroom door the young man became intensely frightened by overwhelming fear! His mother made him continue into the room, whereby the fear was now focused on the single window across the room. He continued his objections of the window and his mother said "there is nothing there". Son in the bed they went, his mother lying on the bedside closest to the window and the boy nestled as close to and with his face buried behind his mother's Back. He finally fell asleep again. Then at some point during the night, this little boy found himself on his hands and knees in the bed, unable to move a muscle and out of the corner of his eye was the brightest white light covering and engulfing the entire window area and beyond. From this area of the room the boy heard a female voice which said.."Phillip I will never come to see you again".
Later on the next morning he told his mother about the experience and what she (it) said. Her son also said that he remembered a name..."Mary". He also said it seemed like she had been talking to him for a very long time, but had no recollection of what she said, except he was sure she was talking to him, even though he could not respond. His mother said that there was a woman who had died in the house prior to them moving there; her name was Mary. His mother did wake him up and she does remember what the little boy said as was relayed to you here.
The house is long gone, but the little boy and his mother are still around. That little boy was....me!
I always wondered about that event and that light and what was said to me that I cannot decipher, as if I was not meant to recall this.
