Well, actually here cigs do create crime, the cost has become prohibitive for all...when your addicted and the only way you "know" how to obtain cash involves stealing, your going to steal...its a community issue. Locally, we have a cig trade within the reservation (Less tax), it is illegal for a non american indian to purchase cigs on reservation property...90% of customers are white anglo.

In any event, yesterday I saw a little news story about "khat", yet another drug...should we legalize it?

On another front however, I don't see the pot industry as part of "organized" crime, most suppliers here who are convicted are "local entrepeneurs", who have been able to efficiently produce a crop...for the most part 1-2 people producing "huge" quantities, typically within the 25-40 crowd. (perhaps to supplement the COL? ;)) Yes pot is illegal, but the customer base remains...if we were to do the same as the nicotine industry and regulate, I'm sure yet another industry will pop up in another form. I fully support legalization and or marijuana reform, regulation?...no thanks.
