something about yu-gi-oh (is that how it's spelled?) is demonic. at least some pokemon are cute little animals that evolve. not that i'm supporting it. i really hate it. i have a friend who is among our nations children that are growing into adults without a strong grasp on reading skills, but sadder yet is the inability to see the story in their minds... comprehension. i read to my 3 kids against their will... each one... until they begged me to finish the book(s). my kids all developed really strong reading skills just by listening to me! they hardly read at all. i told my daughter's boyfriend that i will help him strengthen his reading skills if he'll let me. he said, rather doubtfully, "are you talking about me reading to you?" and i said, "no. i'm talking about ME reading to YOU!" i hope he lets me. (pray for us!) my father read to me and his command of a story was exhilarating. it saddens me to meet kids whose mom's and dad's never read to them at all. it was such a warm spot in my life.
