I think you are wise to beware of it. As Shakespeare wrote, "The Devil can cite scripture for his purpose." As with every other aspect of life, TV removes conscious contact by restricting us to watching rather than experiencing. The predicament in this case is that most people would give it at least a tacit "it's okay because it's Christian" seal of approval without considering the larger implications of using a corrupt medium to share an otherwise positive message.
