Subject: Allow me a shameless plug for a friend who's part of the group that lines up at the Mann Chinese for 6 weeks. Anyway, he's raising money for the Starlight/Starbright Foundation with his time on the line. Inside are the details.
In reply to: MariMata 's message, "Has anyone seen the promos for the new Star Wars movie?? It looks AWESOME!!!! I really didn't like the previous installment, the one before that I absolutely despised, but this one looks like good 'ole Star Wars again! This one's supposed to be a 'tearjerker', as George Lucas described it. Can't Wait!!" on 23:05:57 04/04/05 Mon

Hello Everyone

My name is Scott Rogers and I'm a huge fan of Star Wars. So much so that I am willing to stand in a line for seven weeks outside the famous Chinese Theater on Hollywood Blvd waiting for the movie to open on May 19th. However, don't think that I'm completely crazy because it is for a good cause supporting the Starlight/Starbright Children's Foundation. You can think of it as a Stand-A-Thon in a way because I earn money for the number of hours I put in at the line. I am required to do at least 72, and I'm well on my way to reaching this goal by putting in 13 hours over this past weekend. You may also, if you wish choose to donate a set amount.

If you would like to participate, just follow the link below and then click on the donation link at the bottom of that page. All I ask is that you include my name so that I get credit for doing my share. You will receive a confirmation email for tax purposes. For anyone who donates you can get (if wanted) a picture of me in my Jedi garb and you are welcomed to come down to Hollywood Blvd. and stare at the geeky people.

Thanks for your help,
And may the Force be with you

(if you know someone else who may be interested, please forward this email along)

[> Holy schmokes, seven weeks! I am a Star Wars fan, but I think I can wait a little longer to see it. Besides, I hate sitting in jam-packed movie theaters. I'd rather it be a little spartan so I can enjoy a movie. -- MariMata, 00:27:32 04/06/05 Wed [1]

[> [> The irony is that the Mann Chinese isn't going to be playing the last Star Wars film. ::shaking head:: But the SW fans are sticking with their traditional sitting grounds and won't budge. Some are very philosophical about it, "It's about raising money for the charity, not about being first to see the movie." Yeah, right. LOL -- KatRose, 16:39:38 04/07/05 Thu [1]
