Obama is in the position he's in because the establishment conservatives who have been running the show with only Clinton for a break for the last 26 years have so disillusioned and pissed off the majority center (read: sane) that their abject cynicism over the whole institution will make either a black man or a woman the next President. Sure it's utterly superficial, but I think as it gets closer to post time that will fall by the wayside. I'm actually for an Edwards/Obama ticket (in either combination).

But then I'm still trying to process Rhonda and Jimmy seeing eye to eye,
