I would assume it's simply because you're both anti-Iraq, added to the fact that you aren't liberals. Buchanan has little in common with libertarians.

Maybe, but being a Jew who's never celebrated Christmas, and a guy who speaks his mind, I'm not the person for the job. And if O'Reilly doesn't like that, then he's gotta go to Rome.

They would probably tell you that their purpose is to inform, not to entertain. (But don't Colbert/Stewart say the same thing?) I just don't see as great a line between the two as they'd care to admit. Reading Martin Gardner's story about the guy who seriously believed that whites came from chimps and blacks from gorillas was about as funny as anything on Colbert's show.
