As in everything else in one of my favorite avocations, there seem to be two schools of thought. As a long time devourer of anything I can get my grubby little paws on about anything and everything paranormal, I eat the show up. Granted, some of the things could, and I must emphasize, COULD be staged. But some of the events, too subtle to be noticed by the participants, would be too difficult to stage not to be noticed. I've worked in "Haunted" houses for Halloween, and I also work in television, so I know that the one thing that you want with a staged effect is TO BE NOTICED. Those who disbelieve in the show's reality seem to forget something. If you don't think it's real and it's so LAME, you can change the channel and watch some other brain-jellifying show on some other channel. Too many people seem to enjoy making themselves look big and intellectual by trashing this show and the study of the paranormal in general. The so-called skeptics usually don't rely on an analysis of the facts, often they use character bashing to destroy credibility while painting the investigator as a misguided individual with far too much imagination when they in fact are using more imagination than Tolkien in their debunking "theories". I've had experiences from the age of three up until, say, two or three hours ago, so I know what I've experienced, and any skeptics who want to discredit me, let 'em waste their breath. I know what happened, I know it was real, and unless you experienced the same things at the same time, no way can you disprove it. This I think is one problem with Scariest Places. The show presents it's documentation of the events, but still, for all the high-tech, high-price, God-I-wish-I-had-two-of-each equipment, the Viewer of the show and the Experiencer in the show will always be seperated by the RGB barrier of the television screen.
