At our parish,the communion dress and the white confirmation dress are considered extensions of the baptism gown the girls were baptized in as babies,so the cloth diaper and plastic pants and white undershirt is the normal underwear under both dresses.The 7 and 8 year old girls wear either toddler size plastic pants or youth size over their diaper.Confirmation is done at 16 and in 10th grade and the girls wear the white,poofy,dress and veil with gloves,tights and white mary jane shoes.The girls wear the white adult size plastic pants over their cloth diaper under their tights and their under shirt is tucked into the waist band of the tights.Our daughter made her FC at age 7 and was able to fit into toddler plastic pants,and her confirmation was last year,and she wore the loose fitting adult size plastic pants over her diaper.Our parish encourages the girls to wear their First communion and confirmation diaper and plastic pants and tights for other special occasions and holidays,especially when the girls are in weddings and for easter.
