It states it the TM that when the shields are up which is a graviton field that is has a significant impact on the warpdrive. Further it is also well known that useing warpdrive with a planetary system is ordinarily prohibited. Although this could be simply to avoid navigational errors. Ofcourse Kirk is the exception to the rule! He can ignore even the Trek laws of physics. As for everyone else, Gravity seems to be a factor. Oh and it ain't like being in orbit of a planet, this is an intense Gravitic distortion. What do you think a Gravitic mine does? However a "seasoned" captain might use a photon torpedo explosion between the ship and the GWP, going to warp at the same time to escape. But hemust be careful not to overstress his engines or he might cause a wormhole to form, or worse Gravimetric fluctuations might form a rift when intermixing with a warpdrive.Or they might just stay stuck. One never knows for sure. But Gravity does effect warpdrive whether its a sling shot around the sun, or a Subspace disruption, Gravity does bend light and time this is "real life" fact. Since this is true, we might consider that this might be like losing lift on an airplane, causing it to lose altitude. Only in the case of a warpdrive it loses its ability to maintain a stable warp bubble. This would depend on how intense the effect was, relating to proximity and strength of the field, and how powerful the ships engines were. In other words there may be times when gravity is not intense enough to overcome a warp field, and times when it is. Dispite your skepticism the tactic of using an intense gravimetric distortion field, like a Gravity Well Projector to distabalize a Warp field is valid. Also it is possible to out maneuver the interdiction cruiser and avoid the field. Even a Galaxy class ship with a good pilot might pull it off!
