Subject: Damn America is too greedy

The United States is the richest country in the world. But if we examine things a little bit...all our wealth doesnt go towards the ol Evil Empire. Medicare for example....I have heard it said that millions of children are without welfare in the US - this is unfortunate and needs to be addressed. I have also heard people say how, if ill, or if their lives are in danger, these children are simply left to die. THIS IS NOT TRUE. Doctors and hospitals are obligated to save lives regardless of financial security. However, the healthcare issue is still a major problem....just dont blow it out of proportion.

Damn all this greed. Those obese moneygrubbing swine in this country. All those rich folks driving around in their mercedes while others struggle for a meal. But is it possible that the wealth of this country can accomplish good? WE CONCENTRATE ON THE NEGATIVE and in so doing forget the positive. Because of our wealth and technology, we have THE best medical facilities in the world. We fly patients with life threatening illnesses and problems here for treatment. This, oftentimes..is done WITHOUT CHARGE. We give more money to worldwide relief programs than any other nation in the world as well (yes this is true). Following WW2, the United States rebuilt war torn France at the cost of over 54 billion dollars (not to mention 250,000+ american lives).....WITHOUT ever expecting a fucking cent in return.
I have seen this first hand. I work at the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp...a camp for terminally ill children founded in 1989 by actor Paul Newman. He has since started 9 such camps world wide. Wow, who would have thought a rich american would do something like start up a multi million dollar camp for children. Also, the children that visit the camp do so with all expences paid (at the cost of $3000 a camper every week with over 1500 campers every summer not to mention the costs of running the camp year after year). This rich guy drives a station wagon and wears a pair of blue jeans and an old baseball cap everytime ive seen him. My point.....America's wealth is not a bad thing for we accomplish so much good with it. Maybe we should think about that a little.
