Subject: Am i the only one who thinks its disappointing that Miss Maryland has spent more time traveling & modeling this year than she has representing her title & serving her state. Getting pampered by a sponsor doesn't count as an appearance. Its going to be hard for the board to tell the new contestants about the serious responsibility of the JOB of Miss Maryland and how they shouldnt plan any trips or plan on working or going to school full time after they've watched this years titleholder do it. What a bunch of crap!

It's sad... you can count the number of service events she's participated in on one hand.

Besides, it’s one of the cheapest and most dishonest SCHOLARSHIP programs, where some local winners literally get nothing!

MD is a joke! Being a past competitor.. I can't even believe some of the stuff that happens in MD anymore.

[> Subject: She is not a marketable titleholder. She is a pretty face with little substance and lacks a presentable talent. Look at her Facebook and Twitter... it’s sweet, mild, and kind, but lacks passion. Does she feel strongly about any issues? Does she have any hobbies or interests outside pageantry and modeling? All we know about her is that she’s a former USA girl and she has some connection to the military. No one has any use for a pretty face who just waves and salutes - we need confident women who will inspire kids and teens.

[> Subject: I think your posting is unfair for Kathleen. She has done more than you realize and is very genuine and dedicated. She dida wonderful job withthe Read Across Maryland program last week spending five full days in elementary schools reading and talking to over 6,000 kids.

[> Subject: Citgo paid each state titleholder it sponsors to go read to children this year. I don't think anyone said anything that isn't true about our Miss Maryland on here. She has done nothing with her platform. She is a terrible example for others wanting to be a part of the program. She only posts hair appts and travel with her boyfriend. I hope we have a better representative this year.

You are selecting public figures that have little appeal to the public. Hannah was very pretty and did a lot with her platform but time for pageant patties had passed. Jade was not the strongest contender but she wasn’t a bad choice, so ppl didn’t mind as much. Destiny and our current queen — another story:(

[> [> Subject: Destiny had the best talent I have seen in ages, I was never surprised she won. You were all just nasty bitches who couldn’t believe a newcomer beat you.....so you treated her like shit, made up evil lies about her, and made fools of yourselves. The irony is that in the end Destiny turned out to be one of the board’s favorites. Does anyone notice how incessantly Sherry and Steve still post about missing her? So while you continue to hate on her for years to come she will continue to thrive while you continue to bitch and moan like MD always does!!!

I can agree that Kathleen was a little questionable at first only because of her talent but who cares? The judges obviously saw something in her which is the only thing that matters when it comes down to it all....you will not always agree! Stop acting like petulant children and respect the winner. They win for a reason!!!

She won, get over it and stop living in the past. Is this all you do all day? Are you that miserable? You complain that you or your daughter didn’t get a silly crown or sash so you can feel better about yourselves or live vicariously through your daughter? I think you need to look your own selves in the mirror and stop spreading hate and negative commentary.

[> [> [> Subject: Destiny was hip and modern - what we as a state desperately needed. It's a shame how the Cumberland/Hagerstown clique treated her. I know this is hard to believe but Maryland DOES extend south of Washington County. The backwards mountain folk in this state are really holding us back.
