Cyana Denby. Saw her at WashCo. A newbie to MAO, but seems to have a complete 4 tool package: Stage presence, physique, verbal on OSQ and Talent

A. David: obviously experienced at the big stage a former Miss Maryland USA. Curious as to what she brings for the state finals for MAO. could potentially go from not winning a regular circuit local outside of sweeps to improve into a top five placement.

Dominique Thornton: another system newbie. And a overall solid showing at the Miss Baltimore even through her nerves. Let’s see how she handles her First state level final. Wildcard unknown entry here.

Emily Gallagher. She is your winner.

I’ve been looking at the pics for a few days now, and I ooked at all the pics again today... There’s a newcomer Miss Free State not sure of the actual spelling of her name... but her pic was gorgeous! And she knocked it out of the park at the local... Miss Congeniality, & Best interview... she’ might be one to watch.

would be awesome if MD gets its head out of the dark ages and actually picks a viable competitor this year. My money is on Victoria Graham, she is certainly a woman of substance. I hope this is her year.

[> [> [> [> Subject: Victoria Graham is not the type Sherry goes for. Unfortunate for her that I don't think it will be her year, probably ever, and I do NOT mean this as a slight to her...it's the state director that's the problem.

[> Subject: Hopefully whatever B-panel of judges Sherry is able to throw together is ready to score the competition appropriately and select a winner who is consistent with what MAO is going for: sharp-witted strong interviewer ready to tackle the tough topics (and ready to present modern viewpoints) + a real talent (not a "pageant talent"). We need more Marina Harrisons and less of what we've gotten the last few years.

[> [> Subject: Well, it's a known fact that Sherry is terrible at developing meaningful relationships with contestants, volunteers, and sponsors here in Md. Wouldn't be surprised if she had a terrible reputation nationally too and the "well known" judges refuse to judge Md. Would explain some of the head scratcher results the last few years - the good judges don't come to Md. so we're stuck with whoever's left.

Why would great, experienced judges want to judge in Maryland? You know judges talk and have heard that it doesn't matter one bit who they like. She wouldn't hesitate for one second to tell the judges that "they are headed in the wrong direction" after prelims or ask if they even listened during Judges' Orientation. On another note she is worse than terrible with volunteers. Try speaking up and either your titleholder takes a hit or you are shunned by the board.

[> Subject: Caitlyn Stupi is my pick. She has won a national title and that seemed to help Savvy Shields who had been a national pageant winner in another system. She is also very well rounded. If we end up with David we have another Kathleen as far as I’m concerned. I also like Sabrina Frost and Emily Gallagher. But whoever wins Maryland will have something horrible to say about them, blame Sherry and rip the contestant up so bad that the poor girl will need therapy.
