I think that some people are strong enough to question the status quo and see when the Emperor has no clothes. Some people are too afraid to do that. In some sense, I think Seekers are born. We have that capability from the beginning. Add some hardships from life. Then presto, you have a confirmed seeker. I feel like it is really what God wants. Jesus said Seek and ye shall find. I really think He meant it.

I did reject all other organized religions once I learned about them. I was surrounded by fundamental Christianity and that is what I rejected first. It was all I knew. And that is not even a reasonable example of Christianity. Growing up in a multicultural town where I had dear friends from all over the world made racism a foreign concept to me. So when I saw it in the churches, I was confused and later disenchanted with it. Then there was a whole ministry devoted to destroying gays' right to live in peace. I am not gay but gee when people like that start with one group they will eventually go after everybody. It gets kind of scary. A lot of what I am afraid of about Fundamental Christianity has absolutely nothing to do with me personally. Other than it wrecks the peace in the world I live in.
