Election time is "Judgement-day" for sitting members of parliament. It is a proven fact that many voters tend to bend their own self belief to vote for people with the goods. Selling ones vote to me is like becoming a prostitute. In one of the posts in this forum someone mentioned that, "Engan people" back in the village are more matured nowadays to cast their vote than some of us in the city. I totally disagree. Many people in the village are not well informed, that their vote should go with their beliefs. Most belief and personal integrity seems to be compromised during the election period, when people willing sell their votes to candidates.

In this case, EDF fund is being used to fund a project. In a way, it sounds good but the timing of it isnt. Sometimes you wonder, whether all the EDF funds are paid in lump-sum after a MPs term is about to be over.

Now is the time for people judge rationally and vote for people who can serve the people of Enga. Goodies and Wantok system driven votes should not be entertained in Enga. It is happening everywhere in PNG. We dont realise we are selling our beliefs and integrity. It is happening all throughout PNG and that is where corruption is begining.

Judgement day is around the corner, i hope the people use their own beliefs to vote for someone whom they see fit to lead the people of Enga.

It is a joke for Sam Abal to go that low to solicit votes. The road problem in the Aiyale Valley did not just happen over night. It existed since independence. If he is genuine and authentic enough he should have initiated this project when he took office. Why does he have to wait until election time to fund it? No Engan is stupid! We all know that this is a vote buying ploy that power hungry politicians use all around the country all the time.

Sadly, our people, the very people that give their blessings to this politician to lead, are uneducated and hence tend to accept this bribery and other con strategy that the politicians use.

The onus is on each of us educated Engans to inform our people on this matters. It is not a difficult task. All it needs is one or two good Engans to start it and it will spread. We cannot afford to vote those stupids again. Enga in the 21 st century must be led by capable leaders!... and we must start NOW!
