I wish I could tell you that this wendy plan is great and a great success. The fact is...I am not sure.

before I started the wendy plan I was absolutely stuck, stalled, dead in the water as far as weightloss for 2 and half weeks. I was trying. I was basically doing everything the same as I had been but now not losing wieght. The only thing that was different was that I had added major crunches/amdoninal excercises and a few hand weights to my regime. I consoled myself that I might have been adding muscle and that was why I was not only not losing but up a couple of lbs despite how good I was being.

I tried the wendy plan and after 3 days dropped suddenly for the first time. It was 4 lbs overnight, but that was only a real loss of 2 lbs from where I had been. Still it was a relief to be on the move again so to speak. I was absolutely neticulous about what I ate for the next week sticking to the high/low plan and planning out my meals and calories days in advance. It was not just easy but fun. I couldn't believe I could eat almost anything I wanted if I planned for it. this was very different than the 7 months of deprivation I had been doing. I even had a small peice of cheesecake on my high calorie day. Interestingly enough I didn't enjoy it that much....I let myself have bacon, steak, even belgium waffles. I counted every calorie in advance and have written down a selection of pre-planned meals that I have already added up the calories on. I read labels all through the supermarket and learned a LOT! I excercised a lot more on the high calorie day. I did my regular dancercize and then Spell Weever and I went rollerskating for an hour and half! And I mean we skated for the full hour and half!! I found it hard to get in the full 1800 calories I was supposed to eat that day. Basically, who has that kind of time??? I also don't believe in eating huge meals at almost 47 years old...so that means a lot of smaller ones. At the end of the day, I was looking at my food journal and realizing I had forgotten to eat this or that and adding stuff to my dinner. It seemed like too much food...it really did.

At the end of the week, I weighed the same. i had held my own...which seemed amazing after eating so much...but hadn't lost any more weight.

I am torn between wanting to continue to see if I haven't given this plan a fair chance and in feeling like time is passing that I am not losing. I have had this wish to be further along by my birthday in April. It is hard to think of not progressing. At the same time it is very very nice to be able to have variety in my diet without guilt. It feels more like a maintanence diet than a weightloss diet.. It feels like I could go on eating that way for the rest of my life and not feel deprived. So if i was losing, I would be raving about this plan.

But so far, no more weight loss. The other thing that my other diet plan had going for it was that i could nibble and "cheat" here and there since it was based on a much lower calorie/lower fat intake each day. I think I was probably having low and high days anyways. I wasn't having as much fun, true, but it was easier and quicker and If I felt like eating more I did and if i wasn't hungry, I didn't. On the wendy plan I am forcing myself to eat at times I don't really care to, and sometimes more than might care to. I think it is hard to stay on the meal schedule some days, since life can get busy.

So I am torn about where to go from here. I have my next high calorie day planned for valentine's day since we are going out to dinner. I am not going to eat a lot of my calories during the day and I am going to be sensible at dinner. I am guessing I will still be hard-pressed to come in at 1800 by the end of the day and so that is fine. I am not going to worry about it. I am not sure what i will do next week, though.

Perhaps there is information regarding the WW points system that I am not making good use of in my meal planning that you could share. I have a general idea, and am planning protein, veggies, complex carbs into my meals. since i am counting calories i am even counting the "unlimited veggies"....don't know if that is best or not. It is possible that my old plan was comprised of healthier foods only, since I didn't allow myself much in the way of goodies or things like beef or bacon. I am sure I am consuming more salt on the wendy plan....not that I HAVE to but I am.

I will appreciate any thoughts you have.

It is a big accomplishment to be increasing your duration on the excercise. Stay with it. After I had had an initial loss at the beginning of my diet routine back last summer I then went a week without losing anything. you can do this!

big ole hug,
Dreemy
