Nobel held himself perfectly still. He knew from this distance that the boy could not see him. His coat blended easily into the colors of the night. He blinked violet eyes at the female Silent Paw and smiled slightly. He could hear her thought patterns as he could hear those of Monet and Angie. Yet he himself had no recourse to mind speach. And yet he did not wish to speak aloud yet.

Ohhh, he was fluent in many tongues. Good Silent Paw upbringing had saw to that. He knew many of the human tongues. Including that of both Angie's past and present families. But human would not do just yet. What was he going to do?

Monet shifted slightly on his perch. Golden eyes blinking in the muted light. The blue cat had answered him quickly enough. Why was he not speaking to Gwen. He thought on it a moment and then suddenly chuckled. ::He does not speak within lir links. He has no recourse to mind speach.::

The great tiger tilted his head, ::That doesn't make sense though. What sort of creature HEARS the lir link but cannot speak in it?::

Nobel looked up to Monet and smiled. Yet again he did not speak. He could feel the mind tones now of both Jeff and Alexis flaring to life as sleep was lost. In one the patterns were cool and a light blue in color. In the other the pattern was warm, almost hot, and flared brightly with oranges and reds.

The Silent Paw smiled as he sat there in the pale moonlight of the grove. The boy believed the animals were stupid by nature and below humans. He felt deeper into the orange/red pattern that was Jeff's mind and found the barriar placed up against Gwen and her lir friends. He frowned... It was against his nature to mess with peoples minds. He was a gleaner. An observer only. And so he retreated from that area.

But the other... Animals stupid? He glanced down at his black paws with their unique thumb and smiled again. Perhaps he could show the boy other wise.

Finally, he spoke. "My name is NobelNomis Le Brandonburg. I am what is called a Silent Paw. For my people are known to be quiet and mysterious while still mantaining our superior place among the creatures in the east."

He looked into Gwen's eyes willing her to understand. "I am an adventurer. I go out searching for travelers tales to take back to my pride. Do you mind if I join you for a night or two and..." He smiled, strangely pleased by the feedback he was recieving from the small group. A hidden lir and his hiding girl child. A sheltered boy and his refusal to except what he is. And small weak Silent Paw on a desperate race to save he boy and herself. And Angie...

"I wish no one here anything but good. And I can teach you more than a thing or two about surviving on the other side. Between Angie and myself... They'll be no one to stop you from your goal."

Alexis sat bolt upright and scanned the area. She looked to Jeff with wide eyes. "What is going on?"

Monet slowly faded from sight. ::Just remember Cat, I am watching you.::

From high in a tree Kira sighed. A Silent Paw was joining them. That was both good and bad, depending on th Paw. Some Paws were a good sort. And yet others were known to be tricksters who liked to cause trouble.

Finally she decided to wait. She'd drop in in a minute or two to give them the blankets. But first she'd see what sort of information she could get by listening to the conversation below.
