Alexis let out a high pitched squeal as Monet made his way into the group. The tiny girl flung herself at the tiger and hugged him feircly around the neck. ::Don't you EVER leave me again! Do you hear me? I'll skin you myself you beast.::
The tiger chuffed loudly at the girl and mouthed her pale arm, ::As if it where by my choice.:: He purred loudly and butted her hard enough to send her sprawling into the grass. ::Now, how about introducing me to your friend there. Least he decide I am attacking you and attempt to defend your honor.::
Alexis jumped up and raced to Jeff. She was so excited by the reappearance of Monet, Gwen and the others that she gave no thought to how the boy might feel. Instead she flung herself into him and hugged him as feircly as she had just hugged the tiger. "Oh Jeff! Did you see?" Still clinging to him she spun them both around to look at Monet. "There he is! My lir! My Monet!! He's safe and fine and...."
She kissed him suddenly, as the sentanced finished itself in his newly opened mind, ::...and he brought Gwennie home!::
Gabriel cleared his throat lightly as he stood watching the pale girl kiss his brother. And then he chuckled as the red kept up from the boy's neck to over take his face. "I think, what our small friend is trying to say is thank you for standing by her in her time of need." Yellow eyes flicked from Jeff to Alexis, "Am I right?"
She turned a lightly pink and lightly touched Jeff's cheek, "Yes. Thank you for never leaving me."
"GABRIEL!!!" came the loud demanding cry of Raziel as she jumped from her place between the Paws and grabbed at his shirt. "Gabe I MUST tell you something!!"
Joy at seeing the young girl was replaced by anger at the state she and Cassiel were both in. Neither female wore shoes and their clothing was barely that. Instead they were simply scraps of material stiched together to cover them. Both were dirty and bruised looking and bore a hollow look about them that spoke of limited food.
"Later little one. Why not let everyone get settled while Michael and I try and find us some food." HE tried to set her away from him but she clung to his shirt.
"But you must listen Gabriel. YOU MUST!!" Tears streaked her dirty face as she looked to Cassiel, "Tell him Cass!! Tell him what Azrael DID!!!"
Gabriel looked quickly to his other sister and saw something there. She flinched from his gaze as if she could not stand his questioning look. A he caught some glimmer of a memory before she closed her mind to him.
"What?" He looked down into the wide tear streaked face of Raziel and flinched physically as the girl told all that she knew about the attack on Cassiel and what happened there after. Horror filled him and he looked to Cassiel again for the truth of it. Yet his other sister was fleeing before him though she had not moved.
He went to her then and took her by the shoulders. One callused hand lifted the face he had not seen in years to look into his own. "First, and I know you know this but it must be said, though Azrael and I share the same face I AM NOT HIM. You need not fear me. Rujha, you know this. I am the protector. Do you remember?"
"I do."
"Secondly, you are free of him now and...." HE stopped as the firm teeth of Rio bit into his leg painfully, ::Speak of it later lir. There are things Michael and Raziel do NOT need to hear of. Even Azrael had enough sense to send Raz from the room before the deed was done. Speak of it tonight when the children sleep.::
Gabriel looked around and seen Michael and Raziel staring at him in wide eyed innocence scarred by a rough start in life. Nearby stood Alexis and Jeff flanked by Monet and Gwen. Theirs was the look of ones who had been forced into adulthood with no real clue of how to survive.
::Alright.:: He smoothed Cassiel's hair slightly and nodded, "Later we will talk. For now we must get you and Raziel bathed and fed." He looked around the group and laughed a hollow tired laugh, "So many predators. Who would like to go out and find us some sustance?"
Negasi grumbled slightly, "My sister and I shall. You are needed here with your family. There are my loose ends that require your deep faith and understanding in order to be tied up."
The purple paw looked to the older golden male. "And you should see to our new friend. I believe she has great need of a father figure."
Phisto looked down at the red kit still curled in against him. "But I am no father."
Neva laughed playfully as she and Negasi ran from the camp. "You'll figure it out uncle."
Phisto looked again to the kit and smiled a Paw's smile, "Well then." He lightly groomed the side of her face and purred lightly, "What was you name again? Is your family tribe of this area or anouther?"
