Glad to hear you and J are doing well. We're all fine here, too -- busy, as usual, which is my explanation for my absence on this board. I just got back from taking Gumdrop and her friend bowling. Haven't done that in years! (I used to bowl with a league when I was in grammar school.) The good news is, I scored two strikes in a row. The bad news is, I let the ball get away from me once -- it slipped right off my fingers and rolled away behind me. Thankfully, no innocent citizens were harmed.

We adopted another cat, a stray who was found by one of the guys on my staff. He couldn't keep the little guy because he already has three or four cats and two dogs, so we decided to take him in. Gumdrop named him Gustave. He's your average black-and-white tabby (looks like he's wearing a tuxedo), and he's a real little sweetheart. Loves people, and doesn't mind at all that Gumdrop carries him all around and constantly pulls him over on her lap. He purrs up a storm. He was a big kitten (teenager, I guess) and unfortunately we got him to the vet to be neutered a little late, after he started spraying like a fountain. So, that's another reason why I have no time -- I've either been washing slipcovers several times a week or scrubbing the carpet. Fortunately, we finally got him into surgery last week.

I'm glad Angie and Mike are doing well. Now, there's a nice couple who deserve all good things. I'd love to see their baby some day. I guess he must be about four months old now?

Mmmmm, that "apple pizza" you described sounds heavenly. It's such a grate time to bake -- perfect apples and pumpkins, chilly days. What else have you been cooking? I found a recipe for pumpkin bread on the Cooking Light Web site that looks scrumptious...now if I can only stay still long enough to actually make it!

Mapguy has just gone off on a bike ride. He's determined to make the most of these weekend afternoons before the sun is gone at 4 and the temperature dips below freezing.

Love to you and your family! We miss you guys.
