Subject: Did he bring back any salmon?

If the halibut was big, I can only imagine the size of the salmon you can get up there.

I think I've had halibut a few times. If I recall, it's a bit chewy but good? Or am I confusing it with scrod?

We've been enjoying tilapia, probably because it's among the less-expensive fish you can get right now. I whisk up some milk and Grey Poupon mustard, dip the fillets in the mixture, dredge it through some Italian-flavored bread crumbs, and then bake it for about 15 minutes. Even Gumdrop, who's not much for fish (except shrimp and crab), gobbles it up.

On another note, as if the so-called summer weather wasn't enough of an insult, the tomatoes ain't that grate this year. Too little sun to ripen them on time and bring out the flavor. My dad, who always manages to raise the best-tasting tomatoes, only has the little grape-sized ones ripening right now. He's thoroughly disgusted -- all the squash and cucumbers he planted have rotted, thanks to the yucky weather.

How's your garden, Tom? Did you say that the figs are coming in like gangbusters?
