Subject: we used to breed them

If someone tells you that they can tell the sex of the guinea pig, don't believe them. My sister got 2 of them and was told they were both boys, then one day we went out and there were 7 more. At one stage we had about 30. I personally don't like them, too much like rodents. You treat them pretty much the same way as you would treat a rabbit. Don't give them too much stuff like lettuce or cabbage, the salicylates causes bloating and can kill them if you aren't careful. Plenty of apples carrots and any raw vegie scraps like that plus get a decent rabbit food mix containing grains and stuff from a pet store. Keep their cage clean, they are really messy buggars and can get sick quite quickly if they are left in their mess for too long. Fresh grass is good, and watch out for those cats!!

Hope I helped.
