Nelly- so what’s the next move sis?
Clara- Nelly leave me alone (rolling over in her bed)
Nelly- girl it’s after 12 …get up
Clara- (sits up) for what!
Nelly- I didn’t come all the way to Cali to just sit around in your basement
Clara- gosh …so you mean to tell me I gotta go to work today?
Nelly- please …I knew I should have had Murphy Lee come ask
Clara blushes.
Nelly- so you getting up?
Clara- yeah give me thirty minutes
So in 30 minutes Clara came down stairs dressed in blue jeans and a light blue t-shirt and white sneakers ready to go.
Clara- yall ready?
Kaylonie- (playing a video game) wait! Let me whoop this nigga in Fighters right quick
Nelly- come on Ali …we ain’t got time for all that
Ali- hold on …I’m winning
Kaylonie- in yo dreams
Kayjuan- (comes out of the kitchen) C …you know you outta Pops?
Clara- who the hell ate the rest of my Pops?
Murphy Lee- (just came out the kitchen) Oops …I did
Clara- that’s okay …I can go buy some more
Nelly- hell naw ma …you still ain’t forgive me for the last time I ate all your Pops
Kaylonie- that’s cuz you ain’t Murphy
Ali- yeah he got it like that
Clara- shut up …are yall ready to go?
Kayjuan- yep
Clara- cuz I gotta call Jerome and ask him to open the studio for us
Nelly- come on Ali …you know you can’t beat Kay in Fighters anywayz …let’s go
Ali- (stops playing) save that game for when I get back
Kaylonie- whatever you can loose now or loose later it makes no difference to me
Nelly- okay …let’s go pile up in the van
Clara- van?
Nelly- how do you think we got here?
Clara- whatever …let’s go (walks out and takes out her cell phone to call Jerome)
Nelly- who you callin?
Clara- dang boy! Stay in a child’s place
Nelly- don’t forget who’s the oldest
Clara- and don’t you forget who’s about to get you some free studio time
Tic- FREE??
Clara- yeah …why? Yall got money?
Murphy- well yea-
Nelly- (cuts him off) no!
Clara- good …yall can pay that to me for rent
Nelly- dang Murph …you talk too much
They pile into the van.
Clara- (calls Jerome) hello, Jerome?
Jerome- yes this is he
Clara- hey this is Clara, are you busy?
Jerome- never too busy for you
Clara- awww …that’s sweet, but do you remember me telling you about my brother and his friends?
Jerome- Cornell?
Clara- he goes by Nelly
Jerome- of course …I heard they were hot over in St. Louis
Clara- yea …well they’re here now …and …they need some studio time
Jerome- no problem, I’m on my way to the studio to open it now
Clara- (smiles) thanx, I’ll see you when we get there
Jerome- okay, see ya later (hangs up)
Nelly- (driving) what’s the good news sis?
Clara- he’s on his way to open up the studio
Ali- see it’s good to have family with connections
Clara- yeah that’s right
Nelly- just wait one minute ma …why is dirty all hung up on you anywayz
Clara- I don’t know …he just likes me I guess …he’s a nice person
Nelly- what have you done to make him like you?
Clara- dang Nelly …I’m a big girl now …don’t worry about what I’ve done, but for your information I haven’t done anything, like I said …he just likes me
Murphy- whaat …I guess you heard that
Nelly- ma wanna make a lil money and think she grown …it’s all good though
Clara- naw Nelly …you just be trippin like I’m 16 or sumthin and I’m 22
Nelly- sorry bout that ma …you grown you grown
They arrive at the Studio.
Clara- hey Jerome, this is my brother Nelly, and the Tics, Murphy Lee, Kayjuan and Ali
They all shakes hands.
Jerome- shall we get started
Clara- of course
In the studio.
Jerome- so do you guys have songs written already?
Nelly- of course, we even got beats
Jerome- and now you have an executive producer
Murphy Lee- who?
Jerome- me …if you all are cool with that
Nelly- hell yeah …I mean …yeah
Clara- that’s coo …so I guess I gotta stay here until you all are finished, how long is this gonna take?
Jerome- oh …we won’t work that long today, I just wanna get a feeling of their style and music and of how they operate in the studio, we’ll save the long work for another day
Clara- aiight coo
So they started on some tracks but none of them were good enough so Jerome promised to work with them in the studio tomorrow.

Kaylonie was playing video games with Ali, Nelly and Kayjuan were in the kitchen writing rhymes and Clara and Murphy Lee were in the den watching TV.
Murphy Lee- so what you been up to ma?
Clara- work
Murphy Lee- that’s it?
Clara- yep
Murphy Lee- what’s up, you’ve been acting strange since we’ve been here
Clara- it’s nothing, just some things have changed in the past few weeks
Murphy Lee- like what?
Clara- my life
Murphy Lee- come on now, you know you can tell Murphy Lee
Clara- you remember Olamide?
Murphy Lee- your boyfriend?
Clara- not anymore …he broke up with me
Murphy Lee- he broke up with you?
Clara- yeah
Murphy Lee- what the hell is wrong with him? Who does he think he is?
Clara- I don’t know …he never told me …all he said was it’d be best if we went our separate ways and that he hoped we could still be friends
Murphy Lee- bullsh!t …he got some nerve, you know you’re better off without him anywayz
Clara- yeah, that’s what everybody keeps saying, but I still feel incomplete
Murphy Lee- trust me …you don’t need him to make you complete or to play silly games with you, that’s high school mess, he couldn’t even give you a real reason, I don’t understand why he would break up with some one as nice as you, trust me, he won’t be able to find anyone better
Clara- (smiles) thanks Murphy …you’re so nice
Murphy Lee- well …I’m nice to equally nice people
Clara- thanks …I needed that talk
Murphy Lee- you sure that’s all you needed
Clara- (laughs) I’m sure
Murphy Lee- you sure?

Murphy Lee- so you don’t want a chocolate covered fudge sundae?
Clara- a chocolate covered fudge sundae?

Clara- (laughs) it doesn’t matter
They walk into the kitchen to make chocolate covered fudge sundaes
Nelly- ay don’t yall see us in here working?
Clara- last time I checked this was my kitchen …why don’t yall go into my study to write? Nobody will bother you there
Nelly and Kayjuanleave and Clara and Murphy start making sundaes.
Murphy- okay C, be real with me
Clara- aiight
Murphy- you like me right?
Clara- well …I don’t know …that was way before I moved out here …yeah, I guess I still got a crush on you
Murphy- how come we never hooked up?
Clara- wha? Murphy, the whole time I’ve known you I’ve always had a boyfriend

Olamide- okay, it all started with a talk with Bert Price
John- tell me what happened
Olamide- he told me that Clara seemed to be blowing up on the writing scene and it wouldn’t be long before she was offered movie scripts
John- and …
Olamide- well …JizLamz was kickin off and he felt that us having a high profile relationship would hurt both of our careers, so doing what I thought was best for us I broke it off
John- so you think that this career is worth loosing her? You see that this business is not a guarantee but Clara was, that’s like leaving a house that’s already paid for to pay rent in an apartment …what’s up with you?
Olamide- ay, we were young, we didn’t know what we were getting ourselves in, I just want everything to work out for us, and maybe we’ll see each other on the red carpet
John- if JizLamz was finished tomorrow what would you do?
Olamide- I don’t know
John- and what if you do see her on the red carpet? With somebody else
Olamide- I never thought about her being with someone else
